We would like to say something here. It was pointed out to us but if one notices there is a 5 kmh change in speed fromt he first time the speed meter was shown to the second. This means that the video taper speed up on the truck. This makes this video bogus.
In Texas we move over and let these truckers pass, because we are friendly, apparently you guys in Yankee-Ville have not developed that common courtesy. I don't blame the trucker, since in the video it looks like he was attempting to pass, then you sped up to prevent him from passing; furthermore, I drive a truck too, and if you had done that to me, I would have sent you into the wall. @CustomGenerics Better yet, the truck driver needs to re-read the DMV manual and realize that he needs to put enough space cushion between himself and the driver ahead so that if the driver in front were to slam on their brakes for any reason, the truck driver will have plenty of time to react and stop as well. It's simple rules of the road, yet drivers like this truck driver don't seem to want to obey them. That's partly why there are so many tractor trailer deaths where I live.
I agree it takes two, to set off this chain of events. The driver, should not be tailgating, however, the 4 wheeler does not need to be concerned with doubling his danger by staying in the way, and then increasing his odds of a wreck, by breaking out the camera to record and not pay attention to the road. I do agree that this driver was being wreckless, but to what end? And the 4 wheeler just as much so?

I ran into simular situations with asshole truckers who use their superior trucks weight n size to intimidate motorist to move over. No I did not do anything wrong but we do see impatient truckers more n more and at sometimes innocent people get hurt or die.By the same token truckers see more idiots putting themselves n the truckers in danger.I think that there are more very good professional drivers than the odd asshole we run into and of coarse theres an idiot driver born every minute.
There is no justification for this trucker to tailgate another vehicle. These trucks regardless of weight cannot stop on the dime. Even if the operator of the vehicle in front of him 'pissed' him off, the trucker chose this profession. Therefore, all of the positives/negatives that come along with it. We use the term 'Professional Driver' to loosely. It describes the character and manner in which you conduct yourself behind the wheel of your vehicle. This is far from the term.

You are sorta right about positives/negatives, I choose this profession because I’m good at it (24yr no accidents) and I like to drive. @wolf9walker I commend you on your record. I admit I just broke into the business recently. Not to be full of myself, I am not sorta correct about my positives/negatives. I 'relocate' freight all over the lower 48, Mexico, Canada, (Cuba and Puerto Rico if they erected a bridge). The only thing I turn down in this business is my collar. I have tried (for kicks) to stop 79 grand @ 75mph w/o jaking on an open highway when I knew traffic was absent. Not a good feeling 'IF' I someone in front of me.
There is no-justification for tailgating, I would have called the police and reported him as an unsafe driver and got the Company phone number of the back of his trailer and reported him to his Company head.
@townkevin59 Reporting him to the police is great. The downside to getting the company they drive for, this driver may 'own' their authority. Meaning they drive for themselves or own the company. Just let the proper authorities handle it.

I never got the guys license plate but I really hope he doesn't do something like this to a young family. This guy was pissed- for no reason- I think he was doing it just for fun, honestly. in the other lane and the guy (who was behind me) -after I got into my lane, sped up and then succeeded to run me off the road to the point where I was on the shoulder of the road. As I pulled off to the shoulder, freaked out, he was laughing to himself in the review mirror than fingered me. There was a truck that looked exactly like that. I was going 4-5 over the speed limit so I was going faster than the required limit. From your dash cluster, it looks like you were driving a '90's Accord or something. I had a '96 Accord--its curb weight is 2754 lbs. The curb weight of a '90's Freightliner Classic like that one is ~25000 lbs. Man, i would have just taken to the shoulder and let him by--that thing's engine alone can crush a sedan. Careful.

I love how everyone is yelling at the car driver. That truck had no fucking reason to be that close. I would have speed up and stayed in front too. @roaklin It may have been a setup but the trucker is a professional driver and knows better. The damage he could of caused would have undoubtly killed the car driver. Playing with another vehicle with a truck is just irresponsible. I feel for him if it was a setup but that was just begging for a traffic fatality and the end of his career. And about every cell has a camera on it anymore. Driver may be a dick but it would not have been that much trouble to find a safe place to pass.

We have an odd rule in America that the person in front has the right of way. Traffic moves smoother and safer when you are required to yield to faster drivers behind you. Still, this right of away for being in front does not mean a right to STAY in front. You are a contributor to this incident.

Whatever the issues here, it's the POLICE that enforce speed limits, NOT moralistic citizens with an uppity attitude. Concentrate on YOUR OWN driving. 99.9999999999999% of speeding events result in NO accidents or consequences. I'm sure many more incidents occur from raised tempers and affronted "hero" enforcers.
If someone wants to speed, it's THEIR decision/issue/risk. Feel unsafe? Get out the way and leave them to it. You should move over anyway if not passing, even at the speed limit.

1. This was not a divided highway so speed limit probably 55mph and - do you not drive on the interstate system? I do - alot and I am frequently passed by trucks doing 75-80mph (both privately operated and by companies - such as FedEx, Walmart, etc.
@tomburley hi... every truck is limited by fabrication to 90 km/h with a tacograff wich records on a special paper disc the speed, and the time you are driving, truck drivers are obligated by law to do stops, for example: at 4:30h of driving you have to do at least a 45min of rest, and when you acomplish the 9h of driving you have to do a 8h rest. How ever they can't get over the speed limit as it gets recordet on the disc. you yeah... your stupid, or have no idea about trucking.
@bigboyrise Extending to you the limited respect that you warrant. Fact is that you are totally WRONG. The tachograph based disc charting records time, distance and engine revs (from which speeds are calculated).
They do not prevent the trucks from going above a certain speed neither do they stop the driver from exceeding the driving time limits - they just record the info.
@bigboyrise Since your 90kp/h speed restriction is also total bull since 90Kp/h = 56.25mph) and many states have posted speed limits for trucks of either 60mpg or 65mph (yes actual posted speed limit signs) You are again mis-informed. As I previously stated - many times I have been passed by trucks doing 75mph to 80mph on Interstates - I drive over 20K miles on Interstates each year - having driven to & around over 30 of the mainland US states I can say first hand I KNOW what I'm talking about.

@bigboyrise most trucks in the U.S. have no tachograph, there is talk about making on board data recorders mandatory, but that is being pushed by the huge trucking companies to put the owner-operators & small companies out of business. smaller companies tend to be serious about customer service. any truck with engine electronics can be programmed to not exceed a certain speed. I had mine set to a 68 MPH speed limit.

In the U.S. a truck driver can drive 11 hours within a 14 hour period and not take a single break. thats not really possible since you need to stop and piss from time to time. you need to go get a FMCSA handbook and read the section about hours of service since you're way off base.

Another disgrace of a trucker. Pay no attention to the truckers on here trying to defend the guy. The fact is that virtually every trucker in the U.S. did next to nothing to earn their license and the companies they work for do next to nothing to ensure their drivers know what they're doing. So-called "trainers" are only trainers by name, and would have difficulty keeping their licenses if anything more than lip service was paid to safety and training standards in the industry.

@Kartracer6 When the truck tries to pass, at about 0:55 the car shows his speed. then shows the truck as it backs off and drops behind him 1:17 the car shows his speed again and he is 7-10 miles faster then the 1st time. From my experience, that tells me that the car sped up, and before he started filming he probably did it several times till he pissed the driver off some much, he lost it. Again not saying its right, just saying what I see and have experienced personally.

I was passing several trucks on the interstate (2 lanes going one way) and I was doing 10 over and a trucker got up behind me just like this guy and started honking the horn and flashing his lights even though I couldn't get over cause a semi was already next to me. I just find it unexceptable when people use their vehicles as weapons. And being it your profession to drive your expected to show better judgment.

@Kartracer6 We are in agreement, except for truckers “actions are more likely to get someone killed then the cars.” Facts are about 5000 people die in truck involved accidents (4300 in 2010), about 75% are the fault of the cars. About 40,000 (32,000 in 2010) people die in car accidents. 80% of the interaction between a truck and car are initiated by the car drivers. Frankly the trucker should have his A suspended and a retake, but the car should also be punished.

Yes logic would seriously tell you that the car driver obviously did something but the question is was it on purpose or not. Dear dumbass car driver filming this video. Did you know that if law enforcement wanted to they could use this video to charge you with every traffic offense you commited while filming this. 1st offense Speeding, 2nd offense criminal intent, if someone starts to pass you on a two lane road and you speed up to prevent them from passing you can be charged with criminal intent. 3rd offense insighting road rage i'm sure you did this to the truck driver before he started to tail gate you.

@CustomGenerics Better yet, the truck driver needs to re-read the DMV manual and realize that he needs to put enough space cushion between himself and the driver ahead so that if the driver in front were to slam on their brakes for any reason, the truck driver will have plenty of time to react and stop as well. It's simple rules of the road, yet drivers like this truck driver don't seem to want to obey them. That's partly why there are so many tractor trailer deaths where I live.

I ran into simular situations with asshole truckers who use their superior trucks weight n size to intimidate motorist to move over. No I did not do anything wrong but we do see impatient truckers more n more and at sometimes innocent people get hurt or die.By the same token truckers see more idiots putting themselves n the truckers in danger.I think that there are more very good professional drivers than the odd asshole we run into and of coarse theres an idiot driver born every minute.

There is no justification for this trucker to tailgate another vehicle. These trucks regardless of weight cannot stop on the dime. Even if the operator of the vehicle in front of him 'pissed' him off, the trucker chose this profession. Therefore, all of the positives/negatives that come along with it. We use the term 'Professional Driver' to loosely. It describes the character and manner in which you conduct yourself behind the wheel of your vehicle. This is far from the term.

in the other lane and the guy (who was behind me) -after I got into my lane, sped up and then succeeded to run me off the road to the point where I was on the shoulder of the road. As I pulled off to the shoulder, freaked out, he was laughing to himself in the review mirror than fingered me. Whatever the issues here, it's the POLICE that enforce speed limits, NOT moralistic citizens with an uppity attitude. Concentrate on YOUR OWN driving. 99.9999999999999% of speeding events result in NO accidents or consequences. I'm sure many more incidents occur from raised tempers and affronted "hero" enforcers.
If someone wants to speed, it's THEIR decision/issue/risk. Feel unsafe? Get out the way and leave them to it. You should move over anyway if not passing, even at the speed limit.

@tomburley hi... every truck is limited by fabrication to 90 km/h with a tacograff wich records on a special paper disc the speed, and the time you are driving, truck drivers are obligated by law to do stops, for example: at 4:30h of driving you have to do at least a 45min of rest, and when you acomplish the 9h of driving you have to do a 8h rest. How ever they can't get over the speed limit as it gets recordet on the disc. you yeah... your stupid, or have no idea about trucking.

They do not prevent the trucks from going above a certain speed neither do they stop the driver from exceeding the driving time limits - they just record the info.

@bigboyrise most trucks in the U.S. have no tachograph, there is talk about making on board data recorders mandatory, but that is being pushed by the huge trucking companies to put the owner-operators & small companies out of business. smaller companies tend to be serious about customer service. any truck with engine electronics can be programmed to not exceed a certain speed. I had mine set to a 68 MPH speed limit.

Another disgrace of a trucker. Pay no attention to the truckers on here trying to defend the guy. The fact is that virtually every trucker in the U.S. did next to nothing to earn their license and the companies they work for do next to nothing to ensure their drivers know what they're doing. So-called "trainers" are only trainers by name, and would have difficulty keeping their licenses if anything more than lip service was paid to safety and training standards in the industry.

@Kartracer6 When the truck tries to pass, at about 0:55 the car shows his speed. then shows the truck as it backs off and drops behind him 1:17 the car shows his speed again and he is 7-10 miles faster then the 1st time. From my experience, that tells me that the car sped up, and before he started filming he probably did it several times till he pissed the driver off some much, he lost it. Again not saying its right, just saying what I see and have experienced personally.

I was passing several trucks on the interstate (2 lanes going one way) and I was doing 10 over and a trucker got up behind me just like this guy and started honking the horn and flashing his lights even though I couldn't get over cause a semi was already next to me. I just find it unexceptable when people use their vehicles as weapons. And being it your profession to drive your expected to show better judgment.

If the car did what you claim then shame on him and he needs to get his ass off the road. But sadly the trucker retalited and it seems he should be trained for this. About 40,000 (32,000 in 2010) people die in car accidents. 80% of the interaction between a truck and car are initiated by the car drivers. Frankly the trucker should have his A suspended and a retake, but the car should also be punished.

If they still don't get the hint, I brake check them a couple of times in hopes that they'll wake up and realise that they could cause a collision.
