i like jamaica kincaids short story a small place. I like the rhetorical irony of it, because she makes you get a great thought of Antigua. When you actually know she means the opposite, that its a poor country and have poor inhabitants. Great story.

i love " Annie John" love that book, i just read the autobiography of my mother, its nice too i like when she said in the book " to want something that you will never have and to know too late, is a life overwhelmed with sadness" wow!! love it.

I love Jamaica Kincaid's work and was excited to finally see this interview after hearing about it a decade ago. The Autobiography of My Mother changed my life after reading it at 16. This book- author really- is essential reading. Also check A Small Place.
