What's funny about this was, in any pivotal part in their season when they huddled up i'm sure they were saying: "Hey guys, we got to stick together to win again, because if we don't, since Jordan is back now, we're going to be fucked for next season" lol
me too, i just miss this rockets era...this is what you call a pure talent...winning as the underdogs over the jazz, phoenix, and spurs then sweeping the orlando magic.they are simply phenomenal, unbelievable. no playoff or championship team can be compared with the rockets.
the most inspirational play off run by any championship team in nba history. 7th seed, no power forward, no home court advantage, facing teams that had won at least 55 games in the regular season, no respect from sportswrites but they got a Dream, a Glide and a heart of a champion.
Had the Phoenix Suns closed out Houston in 1994 and 95, they would've won the NBA Finals!!! Interestingly in 95, Phoenix almost traded for Scottie Pippen, during the All-Star break.
@TheEntertainmentonly: Remember how they lost the title to the Bulls: lost ALL 3 games at home!!! Here they lost the 2 most important at home and blew up a 3-1 lead going home! They got thirsty in the desert!!!
I remember watching that Ellie shot live. The game was tied at that time and the Rockets could have hanged on to the ball and gotten the last shot; so as he went up to take the shot with 7 seconds left in the game I was like "WTF is he doing?" But he nailed it.
The Rockets earned their two championship in the NBA unlike the LA lakers during the 2000's era where they are attached to fixed games by the referees.
Wow what a run. They went through teams with Hall of Famers every round!

I wish basketball was as beautiful to watch today as it was in the 90s. Great TEAMS.

Team of destiny: The Suns were the best team in the league (not record-wise) and they blew two pivotal series leads to Houston?

well, sometimes in highly contested game, You got this feeling of "If I shoot now, it will go in"
I think Ellie got that feeling as well.. :D
