  • Great Job!

  • i see the blocks used to raise your workpiece and the clamps that are holding the work to the blocks but what is holding the blocks down?

  • I have bench mill that I would LOVE to be able to do this to. I'm just way behind the learning curve.

  • What are the distance between centers of this lathe?

  • What type of stepper motors did you use? I have a Smithy CB1220xl 3 in 1. And I'd really love to convert it into CNC, but I dont know where to start.

  • Sweet! I want to do this with my Bridgeport clone (a little bigger unit than the Harbor Freight)

  • Is the lathe operation also CNC controlled? I need a machine that could mill onto a round piece of graphite mounted into the lathe, then turn the piece slightly and mill it again.

  • The lathe spindle is not controlled.

  • Great Job I just bought a new one for $1100 w 20% coupon. How much did your conversion parts cost?

  • Maybe $500 plus junk box parts, such as the big servo motor that I already had.

  • do you think it is worth it to buy this machine for $599

  • pretty impressive

  • How do you like the harbor freight lathe?

  • It works pretty well. When milling I often have to raise the work especially when using collets. The cross slide screw I replaced with a ballscrew. It would not replace a Bridgeport but good for general purpose use.
