  • Unfortunately this will not solve the current immigration situation. This is why there is a need for comprehensive immigration reform.

  • The "reality" of the age of prohibition lead to the growth of the mafia. Study history and you will learn. I understand your believing the opposite; however I have learned from history. We need to do so as a country. The lack of reform makes the gangs stronger.

  • Gangs can be defeated by set aside Posse Comitatus, and employing military to fight the insurgents.

  • Ending prohibition ended the funding for gangs. Money always finds a way. Napoleon tried to blockade England into submission. Trade was punishable by death. This did not stop the trade; England won the war. Join us stopping illegal immigration by legalizing the workers and allowing the freed up resources to target criminal aliens.

  • Workers who have a passport, apply for a visa, get a medical checkup, and have an education, are legal if they obey immigration laws.

  • What do you mean by "meaningful, comprehensive immigration reform"?

  • 1) encourage the undocumented population to come out of the shadows and earn legal status; 2) provide fair and lawful ways for American businesses to hire much-needed immigrant workers;

    3) reduce the unreasonable and counterproductive backlogs in family-based and employment-based immigration by reforming the permanent immigration system; and

    4) protect our national security and the rule of law while preserving and restoring fundamental principles of due process and equal protection.

  • IOW forgive their trespassing, grant them amnesty, make it legal to hire illegal aliens, increase the H1B visa quota, and pray the illegals already here will obey these new laws, while providing a magnet to attract the next wave of amnesty hopefuls, while enforcing the 14th Amendment equal protective clause. But, you just trashed the 14th in your process. Try again.

  • Yes, we need to continue trying for reform the current process is similar to the age of prohibition of alcohol. The criminal gangs grow stronger because the laws encourage criminality.

  • If people would obey the laws we would need fewer police. But, you are saying if we had fewer laws we would have fewer criminals. Get real.

  • Way to go on censoring your comments. Is it helping you feel like people agree with you?

  • Are you saying that you agree with me?

  • Dear Sir or Ma'am,

Our current national policy of "immigration prohibition" allows criminals to control immigration. By supporting the prohibition you have fallen into the trap of indirectly supporting the status quo which supports criminal reign. In the last century the criminals grew stronger when prohibition of alcohol gave the money and power. You can learn from history or repeat it. A friend of my once said broken men plow broken fields. Do not allow yourself to commit this mistake.

  • Anyone who says no more borders is a piece of shit Socialist. All that hippie-dippy crap is great, if everyone on the planet is on the same page with handing out soccer balls and rainbow keychains. Until that great day of Utopia is achieved (it won't be), I'll keep my front door fucking locked.

  • This response if so off the wall I am not certain what you are talking about. Borders without control is the current US immigration policy. To continue supporting the status quo only supports the criminals. To have control immigration reform is needed. Only by giving visas to the workers can the criminals be caught. This is the same as the prohibition of alcohol last century in the U.S.

  • This is the pits. Thankfully We have senators in Tennessee who voted to get rid of language, in this farce of immigration reform, of amnesty for illegals. Now maybe some of you don`t mind paying, through your tax dollars, for free medical care for illegals, while tax paying Americans go without medical coverage, but I do. I live just south of Brentwood and I am glad Lincol Davis has voted against illegal immigration.

  • Voting to continue immigration prohibition helps maintain a state of illegality. We need leaders who recognize that they cannot solve the problem unless they recognize that they are the problem.

  • Title 8 Section 1235 of the U.S. Code, Improper Entry by Alien, Any citizen of any country other than

the United States who: Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as

designated by immigration officers; or Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or Attempts

to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful

concealment of a material fact; has committed a federal crime.

  • We live in an era of immigration prohibition which fosters illegality. This is similar to the prohibition of alcohol in the US and the subsequent growth in criminal enterprises. We need leaders who realize this or they need to be replaced. Make no mistake I seek to have respect of law; but I understand that prohibition achieves the opposite.

  • Gives us your tired, your weak, your huddled masses... Oh, wait, no, fuck it, get them out of here and build a fence.

Love that good hypocritical ol' usa.

  • Marsh is an puppet for the Bush administration.

  • Dear Dilinger123,

The hearing were in the Brentwood City Hall which does not allow camera or video recording. So I filmed outside in 90 degree weather.

  • Agreed! We are a nation of immigrants, after all. There appears to me to be racism involved in this big to-do about people from Mexico. Why? If Mexicans were white would the same treatment aat the borders be true?
