I don’t know if I’d ban it any more than any other hate-symbol. The Islamic dress-code is as much a symbol of hate, xenophobia and supremacist aggression as is the swastika, the robes of the Ku Klux Klan or the Hammer and Sickle. Do we “ban” those symbols simple because of the foul and inhuman messages they represent? That said, nobody has to agree with these haters and we can all have just as much right to condemn the bearers of such provocative symbols as they have to expose us to them.

Check out Amnesty International, they have declared Saudi Arabia barbaric because they are looking for a doctor to sever a man's spinal cord as retribution. So, it is not just Pat Condell's opinion. Also, what if we never put a stop to Chinese girl feet binding, yes ban the burqa. It is an object of oppression to women. I will fight for this. I am a woman and I will do my part to help others.

@CerisePsyche While I agree with you, the problem lies in that others don't see it that way. Because they were brought up that way the Burqa is part of them, and they will defend it, no matter how wrong it is. Banning something like that would cause hatred and backlash. Don't be heavy handed, educate these people, and watch them take it off on their own.

@foreverconnected Me, heavy handed, I am not over there killing innocent people for years. I have worked for years with girls, increasing their self esteem. You misunderstood my use of the word fight. I have never hurt a human being in my life.. Women have made the gradual changes throughout time to bring about change. Most women hate the burga but they are beaten. It is too complex to discuss on you tube.

@CerisePsyche I agree with you. People in THOSE countries are being treated poorly because of Islam. In the western world, however, this, by and large, does not generally happen. Some choose to wear the burqa, sadly. If this was true over here, that they were beaten to wear the burqa, I would agree with you. However, islamic men usually come to the western world to escape that kind of insanity, and are not like the oppressive people you see over there.

The whole reason of the burka is modesty. To not be modest is more than just the religion, it is disrespect. I do not agree with it, but to publicly show disrespect to a whole country would be a very bad idea. I agree with your video and like it.
