Modern fanfic authors, eat your heart out. Tiny Toons and Dexter's Lab are the only shows I know of that accepted a fan's script. I say "script" because it wasn't even called "fan fiction" outside of adult sci-fi circles back then. Most people likely thought of it as a "play" (theatrical) or "skit" that used a show's characters; the concept wasn't even in the minds of most people.

Remember, Steven Spielberg produced Tiny Toon Adventures. This is from the same time as he directed the movie "Hook" with Robin Williams/Dustin Hoffman. He threw in a lot of Hollywood culture jokes, although they were more appreciated in the early 90's (1990-1993) and also meant for kids/teens of both 80's and 90's culture. They don't make great cartoons like Tiny Toons anymore. This was a great show and I remember watching it every afternoon after school.
