so i saw that there's an option to mount your sd card through an option on the recovery which says something like usb toggle or something, you can put the ROM there after you do the three steps and then flash.

I'm a bit confused on what the three steps do. Does 'wipe ext' delete the ext partition? If so, what does repair do to it? and if you wipe it doesn't that mean it's deleting your sd card contents, which would delete the zip files for the ROM you wanna flash?

zip files and roms/music/pictures and all that are in your FAT32 portion of your SD card.... not in your ext. so wiping the ext will not erase all of that stuff. it just erases your apps.

I'm using a Mytouch 3g with Cyanogen's latest ROM and I have a 8GB Class 6 Micro SD card, and after I did the partition (I used 32mb swap and 512mb ext2 then did the ext2 to ext30)and rebooted the phone, my phone went through the regular mytouch screen then the ROMS custom screen, and after that screen my screen just went black. Any ideas on what to do from here?

Every time I do the 3 step, it erases the roms I have saved on the SD Card. What could I do to keep it from erasing those roms where I don't have to keep taking the sd card out of the phone and loading the roms back on the SD Card. Because that kind of defeats the whole purpose.

Huh? Doing the 3 step doesn't delete your ROM.

The 3 step only deletes your phones internal memory, and your ext (where you apps are saved)

ROMs are stored on your Fat32 portion of your sd card. So that's left untouched =)

When I did the three step, I tried to select the ROM I wanted to load, and the recovery couldn't find my ROMs. So I took the card out of the phone and and put it in my computer, and there was nothing on the card.

The recovery console was working great until i did a wipe to prepare a flash for another rom, as soon as I rebooted the phone, all i get is the HTC logo whenever I turn my phone on, I tried a combination all kinds of buttons and I can't get it to pass the logo or show a list, not even the T-Mobile G1 logo... am I screwed?

hey man, u should check out BART (Backup and Restore Tool) it works the same as switchrom and i think its a lot easier/faster to use. At the recovery console just hit Alt-x and once in console type "utility" and u can choose option 7 (Backup using BART). Once u do that just give the backup file a name and it'll do its thing. And to restore it just use option 8 (Restore using BART). It will show u a list of all the ROMs u have backed up. It saves u time typing all the commands. :)

The 4.2.7.1 RAM Hack came out and I have the link for it in my RAM Hack video's sidebar... so go get it! =D

And load screens are usually cuz you're using the advanced launcher or try going into Spare Parts and selecting the option that says "Lock Home Screen in Memory" and that helps a lot =)

Dude, two recommendations:

1- Mix the video audio and music a little bit better. Bring the music levels down just a little bit more. The two tracks shouldn't be competing with each other.

2- Your videos are very informative. Take it to the next level. Get a camcorder or camera that does auto focus recording, and if your current camera is supposed to be doing it, then get a new one. :P When you do the closeups, its horrible. We can't read anything. Just suck it up and buy a new cam.

So I do need to try some further adjusting of music audio (since they're still set to my old camera)

HD is ok, but not necessary really. Any really nice SD cam would work too (just for this type of video work), but if you just want HD to have HD.....I certainly don't blame ya. haha

Yes I believe I did that but I remember I had HERO first then I went to cyanogen and I had to install the 1.6 recovery image from HTC. so now I need to reflash my SPL and radio again for hero?

You will have to use the Nandroid Backup + Ext option in the recovery menu. But that will only let you back up ONE ROM =(
