I'm a TKD person and i'm like really good but i'm scared to compete in a sparring tournament because I've seen people get badly hurt when in every form tournament i've compete in. My sensei even told me that he seen people die. Besides my hardest thing in sparring is control. Because most people at my TKD school are afraid of me.

I think he is very good against sport TKD and Wushu fighters - but I don't know how well he would do on the pro thai or dutch circuit . . .

As a former British Muay Thai champion and 2nd TWD black belt and Judo , I fought many champions and got to number 5 in the world WBC muay thai.. This TWD fighter is fast and skilled in TWD. Were here to fight in lumpini in Bangkok or in Holland in full contact rules he would have no chance. But he is certainly very skilled in TWD

Yes, Serkan Yilmaz is one TDKer I respect. He is quick, fast, & good. in. "Ehsan" who supposedly 've been practicing TKD all his life, seems pretty lacking against amatuers & making video of himself. If "Ehsan" fights any decent TKDer, he will get his asses kicked. That slow occurring spinning heel kick so telegraphed, he will eat punch to his jaw instead. The way his carelessly throws spinning heel kick is indicative of his lack of competition in this very video. Watch Serkan Yilmaz.
This "Efsan" guy is not very good TKDer. He is slow, over-weight & uses "gymnastic" phony kicks & sideshows. If he uses that stuff against a good TKDer, he will get his asses kicked. Where are his punches? What the hell kick was that? kicking w/ both feet & landing on flat on his back? Then, take time out for him to stand back up? His "dog trick" TKD is what give TKD a bad reputation among the Mix-Martial Artists. If HE has been training his whole life, he's got nothing to show for.SAD

As he is often referred to as the "best kung fu fighter", i would love to see him fight the "best" fighters of other styles and see how he does. I am entertained by his flamboyant style, but i also know it is easy to execute techniques like these on easy opponents. If he is the best Kung-fu fighter, then why not fight the best TKD fighter, or best Karate fighter, or the best kickboxer.

MMA is mixed martial arts, true. MMA is about handling every aspect of a fight, fighting both standing and also in the ground. that's why i brought Mirko 'left high kick' Filipović. they guy is a steel hard kickboxer, but can also choke a guy in to submission when the need arises. Ehsan knows different martial arts yes, it just seems that the're all in the sanda-kickboxing scale, furious strikes but that's it. i wouldn't call that MMA.on a side note, i'd love to see Ehsan fight a BJJ blackbelt
I box, I know how how hard it is to kick like this in a real fight or how hard these kicks can be. I have watched other of Ehsan's videos and I can tell he is one best fighters in the world today.
I have fought many people who can do devastating, stylish kicks but in a real fight most of them cant kick like this and it is easier to grab thier kicks and counter attack. Ehsan's kicks are truly daring to be done in a fight.

in northern kung fu there are many styles that use high kicks like this guy does, for example the eagle claw style. southern styles on the other hand are more using solid stances like for example hung gar
yes that is true however it still doesnt answer the question of what style he practices? If he had films of empty hand forms or weapons forms it would be more obvious. Also he doesnt display any hand strikes that would indicate any style of Kung Fu. And if you watch someone perform an eagle claw hand form you will see that there are more hand teqniques in the form than kicks. And actually eagle claw is well known for grappling....
also he wears a Tae Kwon Do uniform that sais Tae Kwon Do and his style has no hand teqniques of Kung Fu...Eagle claw features a lot of grappling...look it up and watch the self defense of eagle claw on you tube..

I think he is very good against sport TKD and Wushu fighters - but I don't know how well he would do on the pro thai or dutch circuit . . .
Very few pro kickboxers use spinning attacks because the pros reaction times are centi-seconds too quick to allow for the recovery of spin attacks.

As a former British Muay Thai champion and 2nd TWD black belt and Judo , I fought many champions and got to number 5 in the world WBC muay thai.. This TWD fighter is fast and skilled in TWD. Were here to fight in lumpini in Bangkok or in Holland in full contact rules he would have no chance. But he is certainly very skilled in TWD

Ha you see the color of his belt, it is black, incase your color blind. This is what happens when TKD instructors get greedy and push people through belts. Ehsan Shafiq has been training his whole life to demonstrate such skill. Find a traditional Kung Fu class and it may take 10 + years to become a black belt. There is honor in kung fu, unlike most TKD.

yeah i know. but have you seen the movie Karate Kid? belt doesnt matter, anybody can join an open belt competition (like ehsan himself ) and wear any belt he likes.
i have respect for other martial arts (unlike you dude), the issue here is that the skill of the players are not even. so it wasnt a good match up at all.

You have to have passed your dan grade officially and have the proper insurance to be entered into a competition as a dan grade.
In any case turning up to a competition wearing a belt you haven't earned means you get treated as what you reprt yourself to be.
I studied Lau Gar for a long time and entered many competitions ... I got my black after about 11 years and EARNED IT. Turn up with a belt you haven't earned expect a kicking

Yes, Serkan Yilmaz is one TDKer I respect. He is quick, fast, & good. in. "Ehsan" who supposedly 've been practicing TKD all his life, seems pretty lacking against amatuers & making video of himself. If "Ehsan" fights any decent TKDer, he will get his asses kicked. That slow occurring spinning heel kick so telegraphed, he will eat punch to his jaw instead. The way his carelessly throws spinning heel kick is indicative of his lack of competition in this very video. Watch Serkan Yilmaz.

This "Efsan" guy is not very good TKDer. He is slow, over-weight & uses "gymnastic" phony kicks & sideshows. If he uses that stuff against a good TKDer, he will get his asses kicked. Where are his punches? What the hell kick was that? kicking w/ both feet & landing on flat on his back? Then, take time out for him to stand back up? His "dog trick" TKD is what give TKD a bad reputation among the Mix-Martial Artists. If HE has been training his whole life, he's got nothing to show for.SAD

I have a lot of respect for Ehsan Shafiq as a person, and as a martial artist. As he is often referred to as the "best kung fu fighter", i would love to see him fight the "best" fighters of other styles and see how he does. I am entertained by his flamboyant style, but i also know it is easy to execute techniques like these on easy opponents. If he is the best Kung-fu fighter, then why not fight the best TKD fighter, or best Karate fighter, or the best kickboxer.

he uses a lot of big spinning kicks wich are very effective when they land, wich sadly is only abou 35% of the time. and when they don't land, they leave him unbalanced or his legs tabgled up i his opponent, wich is the perfect situation for an opponent who knows BJJ. i'dlike to see him fight someone with more ''simplistic'' style like Mirko Cro Cop. i'm not saying that Ehsan would lose, frankly i'd love to see a match like that. it could be a good experience for Ehsan too, to get a taste of MMA

MMA is mixed martial arts, true. MMA is about handling every aspect of a fight, fighting both standing and also in the ground. that's why i brought Mirko 'left high kick' Filipović. they guy is a steel hard kickboxer, but can also choke a guy in to submission when the need arises. Ehsan knows different martial arts yes, it just seems that the're all in the sanda-kickboxing scale, furious strikes but that's it. i wouldn't call that MMA.on a side note, i'd love to see Ehsan fight a BJJ blackbelt

I box, I know how how hard it is to kick like this in a real fight or how hard these kicks can be. I have watched other of Ehsan's videos and I can tell he is one best fighters in the world today.
I have fought many people who can do devastating, stylish kicks but in a real fight most of them cant kick like this and it is easier to grab thier kicks and counter attack. Ehsan's kicks are truly daring to be done in a fight.

in northern kung fu there are many styles that use high kicks like this guy does, for example the eagle claw style. southern styles on the other hand are more using solid stances like for example hung gar

yes that is true however it still doesnt answer the question of what style he practices? If he had films of empty hand forms or weapons forms it would be more obvious. Also he doesnt display any hand strikes that would indicate any style of Kung Fu. And if you watch someone perform an eagle claw hand form you will see that there are more hand teqniques in the form than kicks. And actually eagle claw is well known for grappling....
