Hey thanks for shooting this. Looks like a really good example of practical accuracy. I would think the eyes would be a limitation at that distance (at least for me). I have found that I like shooting at a sharply contrasted diamond or cross. They give me reference points to align my sights better. Grab a claw mount from cheaper than dirt!
@WesMerc Consistency with irons is definitely challenging, as the front sight post is often larger than a 5" target at 100 yards. It's pretty difficult when focusing on the sights, as you can easily lose the target in the background if you aren't mindful of it. Bright orange is easily lost. Another color might be a better choice for resolving the image. Nonetheless, I'm interested in how other firearms would perform in this test with regularly encountered ammunition.
