I bought Reason 5 and put on license and all was good. And this refill is free for users Reason 5 because when I want download this it's failed and I see some error :(
@Matara yes you can, if I understand your question correctly. You want to import a midi file and play it back using Reason Pianos? Yes you can do that.
@mihaelkYeah Actually, I'm a more classical player than a pop player. :)
These are designed to sit well in the mix. That means you can spend time tweaking to find the sound you want, or go with a preset. It depends on how good you are with Reason. If you're looking for recordings of classical piano, go record yourself on a classical piano, or shell out the extra 900 for some hollywood style VST which only sounds better by a margin. This is designed for, and is perfect for mixing. :)
@SplinterCell37 If that's the point, Ivory grand pianos shouldn't even be in the market, should they? There are some of us who like a grand piano that is also suitable for classical music. To be able to modify resonances, pedal volume, dampers volume, all of those things that would drive us insane with a REAL piano. You think my request doesn't make sense? Then why are there CONCERT piano VSTi's on sale? Tell me.
@mihaelkYeah No, that's not what i mean at all. I never said your request doesn't make sense. Ivory grands and concert vst's exist for concert piano recordings. They have already fulfilled that need. Reason Pianos aren't MEANT to be ivory grand pianos or concert piano vsts. They're meant to sit well in a mix, and be easy to tweak. By all means, if you want a concert piano vst, then go get one. But I like the flexibility to decide how the piano will sound when I'm mixing.
digitalpiano like clavianord, yamaka, kawai, roland, korg sell there "electronics device" by tells they have samples like key off,let off, escapment, string harmonics. do propellerhead´s pianosample offer that to? this program sounds great. so kow I only have to find a real good keyaction keyboard.
with a chain saw you could get rid of the unnecessary furniture Cabinet on Yamaha GT-2 or avant grand N3, N2, N1. a real musician needs a good keyaction and feature-rich samples this program I need
I love these pianos! Especially within the mid range velocity layers where they're very natural, transparent and dynamic. But the colouration of the Propellerhead recording hardware (preamps, compressors etc.) will pop out once played hard and give the sound that processed edge that may or may not not go well with your other instruments. I think it's extremely important when offering libraries like this to use as transparent samples as possible, even if it means one less selling point.
A very nice comercial indeed, sells the product very well, but i´am much more into classical music and not lame pop mixing. BTW, ok, i guess yamaha is fine, but no bechstein? No Bosendorfer? ouch!!!
I think that is the whole point of the Reason approach is that there are already killer classical soft pianos ("Ivory" for example), but do not sound right when you are playing other styles of music, (jazz, rock piano, blues, new age)
This video is extremely good, it doesn't only raise a desire to buy this refill pack right away, it also has a great sense of humour which made me laugh several times. This is how a commercial should be made. :)
I've got a good job this summer, so I might have to get a copy of Reason 4 with this, and the drum refills (THEY SOUND AMAZING!!!).
It's funny how high-quality, consumer-friendly (multi-platform, no excessive DRM, compatible, no-vendor lock-in, etc) software makes you actually want to purchase it instead of pirating it.
Ah... I've been thinking of hitting the Rode NT2A. Is the original NT1 better than the 1A version? (I know this is a subjective question according to what sounds best to your ears...)
I'm thinking of using an M-Audio Tampa when I have the money to pair up with whichever Rode I get...
Excellent presentations & excellent products. You have made 4 sales (R4 & 3 refills) through your well thought out presentations. Plus, I'm spreading the word.

1:31 So they're just made for popular music? Not for classical? Grand pianos FAIL.

Good enough for an anal pianist to play?
Don't think so lol. That doesn't exist. But this software is about as close as it gets.

@shinjiemisato You shouldn't be playing classical on a MIDI keyboard anyway.

What mic? Looks like a Rode to me. Could be one of several.
erickuns 2 years ago
The narrator was on an old Rode NT1. (I bought one of these when they first came out and it's my main "go to" vocal mic)
KCJazzKeys 2 years ago
Nice! I like the idea of the various mic placements and level controls for them. Why no one else has stepped it up to this before now is beyond me :\
At 2:35 in the vocal booth... what mic is that?
