  • i got the subaru motor runs gr8 every time had for 2 years now use it 2 or 3 times weekly

  • that battery charger sure has seen better days.

  • Thats a nice unit. I just bought the Generac XP8000 a couple days ago since it was on clearance for 799. It had come back with an issue with the electric start but was fixed and works perfect. Great units. You sure cant go wrong with that subaru engine.

  • I just bought this generator and will do the test this week I live in palm desert ca It gets very hot out here 111 to be exact I will run my Ac, Fridge and tv plasma direct tv box, and computer if i can do this i am satisfied but to ansewer your question about the noise the subaru is a little noiser and just a little more power electric start ect,If you want to stop noise build a dog house and put it over the unit.

  • @consigndesign It will run all of that without a hitch. I have a Generac 4000XL that I used in Miami to run a pool pump, 13,500 BTU window unit, fridge, freezer, big screen, and lamp. It ran all that for 2 weeks non stop except to change oil until we got power back on.

  • Generators are not the quietest thing going, but the overhead valve engines are a bit quieter - maybe the subaru has that kind of engine. I guess you just have to hope the neighbors understand you've lost power, hence the droning generator. You can set up plywood near the generator to deflect the sound from the closest neighbor if they get on your case. After a while, you also tend to forget about the sound. Subaru engines are good - my brother has one.

  • I plan on buying the 8000 watt model with the subaru engine. I doesnt seem very loud on your video, do you think I would bother the neighbors in a suburb area????

  • I do, but it's never been pressed into emergency service. It has an 8 gallon gas tank, Yamaha motor, and is easy to service - drain the carb after running. I run it monthly to keep it dry, and so far, so good. I did one test for about 30 minutes after I installed the connection panel/plug, etc, and it worked fine, ran the well pump, frig, and some lights. It is voltage regulated so it provides smoother voltage. It's heavy, but the folding handle makes it quite manageable to move.

  • Do you like this generator?????
