  • I look at something way past the finish and just block out everything and concentrate on it. then when my body natural comes up during the race i run my ass off towards it.

  • good advice for starters.. her form isnt the greatest tho..

  • this really helped for my p.e class and for my home work

  • She is on the blocks but starts like without them.. and runs like 90% girls

  • you have to keep your elbows in when you are sprinting

  • THIS IS SO COOL.

  • needs more hip extension

  • you make it look so easy!!!! When i tried it at school, I failed and my coach told me i wasn't gradually rising up to run....but you make it look like cherry pie :3

  • wait this video is about start?

  • Position is all wrong

  • I have raced there that lee valley :)

  • she is beautiful

  • @peklivanasnicos she is SEXY

  • using starters makes it harder

  • Excellent video. Very accurate. Nice work.

  • i only agree with half of what u said! i dissagree with you saying u should that u should stay low for 10m it should actually be about 30m at least then u gradually built up!

  • @ashmeade22 Her description may be more helpful for female athletes who lack the power/strength needed for what you are suggesting.

  • Her set position is all wrong, yeah she lifted her hips up but you shouldn't move your shoulders forward unless your super strong, your shoulders should be rock solid from "marks and set"

  • Omg i watched how to jump higher and now im here?

  • 0:14 - now thats relaxed intensity

  • Nice facilities!

  • I don't think there is enough arch in her legs to produce the most amount of acceleration from the blocks, but that's just me.

  • pause the video and keep pressing 2. its hot.........

  • She looks like Posh Beckham!

  • up to early and needs to relax her hands more

  • She looks like the sister of that host in Discovery's "River Monsters" show. ^_^

  • @iH3ROz You sprint 11.84 without any experience: you don't have the right technique, your start is slow? Yeah, then you should definitely go to an athletics club. Then you are able to win some serious contests. But serious, 13 year and 11.84 sec? That is extreme fast for a 13 year old person...

  • Olala!!! I can watch this for hours and hours ;)

  • Great... but she do it wrong. It is very wrong to not have feets pushed to the blocks when you are in "set" position

  • my nerves are my biggest problem in a race have u got any tips

  • @GamingTomZ123 Agreed, and I'm only 13 :S

I just take big breaths in and out and think of stuff to get it off your mind. The day before the race you could keep telling yourself 'I can do it,' that really helps me to loosen my nerves cause I told myself the day before I can do it. This might sound completely weird but I count to 10 and sometimes 100 over and over again really fast when we're lining up for out race, this actually helps me!!

I hope my tips worked for you :)

  • There can't be a better coach then her :)

    can't be a better cameraman!

  • 0:20 haha no pressure

  • Keep pressing 5 C:

  • mmmmmm sexy

  • OMG SHE'S HOT!!

  • KATE MIDDLETON SPRINTS?!?!

  • Which is better, crouched position start or upright position start?

  • @QueenOfAmber crouched position, when you start of with the upright position you don't get as much power/ push off as you would with the crouched start.

  • Her arms should be wider apart on the line

  • @ThExShizZx92 My coach, and as far as I think is logical, it should be however she feels more comfortable but still getting the start right... after all, different bodies require different details...

  • She is hot haha!

  • wow she is hot

  • HOOOOOOOOT!!!!

  • wow she starts with her blocks well far back

  • I train there

  • Why didn't you film this "behind" her?

  • Thumbs up if you clicked to improve starts but only continues coz shes hot -

  • She's hot and she's British. That makes her sooooo hot

  • she doesnt know to start but who cares :D

  • 0:12 I thought she was going to tank the camera guy! Rofl

  • I laughed so hard at 0:20.

  • That British accent makes her 10x sexier!

  • Wow Before school games i was 13.8 - today i Am 13.4 Thank you

  • 00:11 - 00:16 relaxed sprinting?

  • Im gettin butterflies just thinkin about racing...jeeze

  • @nicholkid I FEEL LIKE THAT EVERYTIME I RACE!!! x.x i always win tho xD

  • This isnt exactly correct.First she is very tense.this is no good when it comes to running any kind of race. And secondly DRIVE PHASE Is the most important part of any sprint.PERIOD.You must know how to stay in drive phase the longer the better your body will naturally come out.But to train your body to hold it at least til the 35 to 40 meter point will benefit you the most. Drive phase it the part of the race where speed is gathered.Once you stand all power is lost...

  • thanks, great help

  • 0:21 (: its worthit! hahah

  • I subscribed because.

Well most of these guys have the same reason rofl

    jk jk

Yea this video was helpful :)

  • 0:51

  • She doesn't even load up the blocks with her feet, her heels don't even touch the blocks. Why use blocks? Too much lean forward too - and no you shouldn't put all your weight on your fingers, you need to spread it around all 4 points of contact.

  • @djscottrichardson Actually you do need to put all your weight on your fingers. You need to "fall" out of the blocks and push with your front leg off the blocks.

  • she's doing awesome but in my opinion she stands too early. I stay longer distance in a low position at least 30-40 meters only accelerating

  • im 13 years old and i run 100m in 11.97 secs. Can anyone tell me if this is anygood

  • @xXWyinneWonderXx its okay

  • @xXWyinneWonderXx im pretty sure thats REALLLYY GOOD

  • @xXWyinneWonderXx i can tell you your lying haha

  • @xXWyinneWonderXx its horrible :)

  • @xXWyinneWonderXx thats great im 13 and i run a 11.8 keep up that up and by the time your 15 youll be a BEAST(11.9 thats what 14-15yrl are running)

  • best is that you keep ur feet against the blocks... otherwise you make a move backwards and lose time, i'm not a pro atlete but i know that...

  • I definitely disagree with some of this information being given. If you hold your drive phase for 20m and by 30m you are in "full flow" how do you expect to finish strong in 100m. These directions may be good for the 60m but in the 100m dash you'll need a longer drive phase because its a longer race and the body can only stay at its top end speed for a relatively short period of time.

  • @mistereverything Finishing strong depends on how good your train your body to endure such extremes. MY fasstest time in the 100m is a 10.71 and my drive phase is only 15m.

  • she's really..hot..and fast..

  • best part of the video is at 0:20 =D)

  • thank god for slowmotion!!

  • 17.9 << thats my fastest beat that!! LMAO i suck at sprinting

  • @FUNKTHEPUNKS I got 11.9

  • 0:08 - 0:15 = best part of the video

  • 0:08 - 0:15 = best part of the video

  • Firstly, I'd get that collarbone checked. We have a variety of sprint drills on our channel if you want to have a look. We also have some training schedules on TeachPE.com- which would help.

  • @r2fteachpe hot!!!!!!!!

  • hi i have a question, my reaction time and power is very good and my top speed is very good but i dont think my acceleration is that good plus in football someone elbowed me in the color bone and i dont know if it is broken or not dont think so or else i wouldnt be able to move my arm, i also got used to the pain so i can do almost anything but will that slow me down?

  • @Shift4chizzle your arms are very important in sprinting as they are the only thing that informs a sprinter whether he has completed a full technical stride. Go to the hospital if you want to know about the condition of your arm!

  • she get up too quickly.

In a sprint start, you should take advantage of the impulse that the tacos (i dont know how to say this in english :D) give you.

    Nice video anyway

  • wow, this is hoenstly the best video on the start I've ever seen. It's succint, and straight to the point., and from a woman's perspective, which is usually more feel based, whic is important

  • I train here every now and again. They do take photos and film a lot here.

  • dammm!! what was she saying, did not hear a word ))

  • wow im trying not to concentrate on how hot she is and how to learn to start out of the blocks lol

  • This is not perfect ;),

bad way of getting in position,

always do it with straight legs ;),

and get your heel at the block, don't leave it like her,

you can use a lot of more power if you do that.

  • look at her calfs at :45

  • Thanks I really needed to watch this!

  • Nice legs!

  • shes wrong, you want to be at full speed at 50 or 60 meters, you want to set yourself up for full speed at 30 meters by driving after digging, then at 50 or 60 meters you want to accelerate

  • @MrMaximilianWilhelm Only an elite sprinter reaches maximum velocity so late.

  • her legs are so FIT o.O !

  • one if you race watch your arm the left arm is droppiing quite alot so just keep an eye on it(you can get a tad faster if techinque is correct).

  • at 0:45 she has her front and back foot's heel a bit off the block. To get faster reaction and better push from the blocks have a little bit of your toe on the ground so your heel is against the block. because when your heel hits back to the blocks that wastes time

  • she isnt leaving 1cm off the ground on the blocks.... shes actually touching the ground and the blocks therefore less power for the push off

  • 16 10.4

  • SHE'S HOT!

  • @nigglattokids95 lol yea and a good teacher too

  • @nigglattokids95 NOOT!

  • I agree with L0l1o1 she is getting up a little early yes but shes not doing anything wrong. As long as she is getting the speed and power she needs out of those blocks and catapulting herself foward she should be fin.

  • I agree with 145bobby. You need to keep low to the ground to get your power.

  • @BJTHEWOLF She's a hurdler, so she is used to get up within 8 steps.

  • pretty hot

  • she stood up too soon... You should be at 45degrees the first 10m and gradually raise up till your standing tall at the 50m mark

  • @145bobby i definitely agree!

  • @145bobby, Ur right about being around 45 degrees. But then u should be upright by the time ur at 20-30m, not 50

  • I have a race tomorrow and im getting goosebumps lol!!!
