got one of these given me to the other day and have no idea how to get it started! Do you just put in batteries then flip the dial to "on" on the other side of the camera?
I bought one too and thought I shot a roll of film at a wedding. I'm not sure after loading the second one that film was ever being wound on! How do you tell when film is being shot and when it is used up? The camera might be faulty for all I know. A how to video would be good.
Just bought one last week at a Los Angeles thrift store for the hefty price of 9 dollars; shiny and looks like it has never been used. I like the size and fact that it is an xl with a rew tricks. Can't wait to use my 9 dollar camera.

What batteries do you use? are those just normal aas?

yes it does, but you have to use the "ee lock" to adjust the f-stop to 2/3 lower than what the meter is suggesting (as per superwiki) :)

it's about a year a go when i last just my 514xl, so i'm not sure
but if the film is used op you will hear it i think the moter will just stop working but i'm not sure.

How was your filming - Did you have any problems? I don't even know if I'm loading film properly.

i just bought on on ebay....im pretty sure im the first person to even put batteries in it........havnt tested it with film but it seems great
