  • Loved this show Born in 1950 and watched all the shows back then 50's and 60's Let's not forget Andy Griffith and Beverly Hillbillies. and for the kids "It's Howdy Doody Time" HA HA those were the days along with Captain Kangaroo.

  • One of the best tv series theme songs, if not THE best, that ever was. I was a kid in the 1970s when I watched syndicated reruns of Green Acres and I really loved the theme song intro. Unfortunately, the 1970s is also when they stopped airing reruns of Green Acres and it would be almost 3 decades before I would be able to watch it again. BUT the opening theme song has remained with me always.

  • Green Acres is currently airing on TV Land weekdays from 4-5 p.m. ET and Saturdays from 9-10 a.m. ET.

  • Good clean comedies like this need to be made today, not all that reality crap, I just ordered the first season DVD, and I can't wait for it to get here,

But seriously, something needs to be done about the crap that is on TV these days

  • I completely agree. "Reality" TV is not reality it is "stagged" crap.

  • Completely agree with you VinylCountryMusic. Everything on today is just plain crap. I hate sitting in the living room when my neice is watching The Real World. Plus what happened to the great cartoons of the 90's and earlier? You know, Loony Toons, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, Tom & Jerry, The Little Mermaid ect. Now there's all this freaky crap on Cartoon Network and a bunch of anime and 3D crap on Toon Disney. I miss the classics

  • I do miss the cartoons too, there are way too many of those wierd Japaneese cartoons on cartoon network, and I really miss good TV shows too,

I remember hearing last year, that they were talking about making a new green acres series, because it was something they could do during the strike, and it actually sounded like a good idea ( with some of the original writes and stuff ) but I guess it will never happen now, but it could have been good for TV if it did

  • I always wondered why my mom would say 'darling I love you but give me park avenue' at random.

    And now I know. xD

  • A Japanese friend once told me this show was very popular in Japan, dubbed into Japanese. They even found a Japanese woman who could do a Swedish accent for the Gabor part! I guess they liked laughing at us crazy Americans.

  • Nice tid bit of info...thanx.

  • FYI, I believe the Gabors themselves were actually Hungarian, or somewhere close.

  • Yes, they were Hungarians.

  • Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, Beverly Hillbillies

    The unholy trinity lol

    such great memories

    60s music was unbeatable

  • are you buy chance from Brandon Manitoba?

  • Anybody old as me that remembers the end of the show? Eva Gabor says "This has been a Screen Jems Presentation Dah-ling"?

  • yeeeee haaaaaaaa & more magic always at green acres :):):) arnold the pig is leader of the globe :):):) mega oinks for this posting, johNUTTY :):):) always dream~~~dare~~~dive into happy hay :):):)

  • Whts great bout this how is that its only geographically rural and funny, but not hillbilly funny, like the beverly hillbillies and even petticoat junction, those shows were so hick.

  • anybody remember the neighbor and the pig?

  • Mr. Ziffel? Arnold is the pig I beleive.

  • They were rich enough. If he loved the farm so much, he could have stayed there and I would have stayed in the penthouse on Park Avenue!!!

  • Why was Eva Gabor wearing an evening gown in the morning?

  • because posh people in manhatten dress in lovely outfits early in the morning :)

  • Yes they do, but not in evening gowns!

  • but she can if she wants to.

  • That's true, Kumabee! She could and she did!! lol!!

  • That wasn't even a nightgown!

  • This show was magic...although any boys called Arnold who were going to school at the time might not agree! thanks for posting

  • I like at the end (0:58) how he pulls her off the balcony. I guess she survived.

  • Ilove green acres and will allways rember.

  • It was one of the funniest TV shows of the 1960's.

  • I love this song!

  • Sure: just search for "Green Acres" on Amazon.

  • Thanks!

  • For years, we have seen connections: Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres and Petticoat Junction. What is the connection with Hooterville? were there any crossover episodes where all 3 shoes come together?

  • grin akres is pipalas

  • Lay off the weed

  • One of my all time favorite shows

  • What a hoot! Dont make shows like this anymore

  • Earlier episodes of GA were in black and white as we know. If I remember correctly most if not all episodes were shown by Channel 4 (UK) after it first opened in Nov 1982. It had been on RTE (Ireland) in the 1960s, how it takes me back!

  • great tv song

  • This theme song comes to mind every time I drive through rural North Florida and South Georgia.
