Loved the reverse video part. As if to throw the plane away from his! LOL... Very Nice Save! Great reaction! Nothing worse than taking out 2 or more planes in 1 landing! Loved the "Look Back" too. Great share! ~~Robert.
The guy's name is Bob Born. Get it "Born to be Wild"? Everytime I make a video with Bob in it the music plays. Do I have to explain everything? It's sad, really.
HOLY CRAP! That biplane and the other aircraft were waaaay close to the active runway... like... why?! Most fields I've been to have a fence or something splitting the pits from the active runway! Lucky the spinner didn't take out his man berries!
Hindsight is 20-20. You also can't see all the vehicles parked behind the runway. The plane would have hit a car. NO-this was the best choice made in a split second.
Well it depends on what plane you are looking at but if you get a trainer you will have no problem im 15 and have been flying for a couple years and learned on a e-flite apprentice that is hobbytowns where i work and it is a great starter and a lot of fun but compared to helicopters which i also have it is a lot easier but get what you want and have fun if your scared to fly it by yourself rite away like we all are then have a experienced pilot buddy box you where the remotes are connected!!!
That pilot SHOULD NOT be flying on his own! He needs a buddy box for sure! If you can't even keep your plane tracking straight on approach and landing, you're a liability to the rest of the field. And deadstick too, it's going so slow and is easy to control.
Let's go over this one more time. It was a temp field. You can't tell, but the cars had to be parked in the tall grass. We could only mow a strip. So we parked on the edge of the runway and sat our planes at the edge of the runway. Imagine a hay field with a runway, where would you keep your planes, somewhere in the tall grass to be tripped over. We were lucky to continue our flying when we lost our field in June. Imagine losing your field in June, seriously.
I'm sure you would never stick your finger in a prop, but I bet you have. Tell me B4its2L8guy, are you perfect? Have you heard that hindsight is 20/20. I bet your one of those Monday morning quarterbacks as well.
i could of done the same, but i would have caught it instead becasue the wind from the kadet placed a smooth little scratch on that $1000 used to be flawless plane, dont you think so?
That was a great save. Maybe just don't park all the planes so close to the runway and leave them in the car when a novice is learning to fly hahahahahahah.....
The video is in slow motion most of the time. Could you imagine the $100 Kadet busting up the leading edge of the $1000 Biplane. I should have mentioned that the Bipe was recently maidened. The plane is flawless and any scratch or dent would have been too much.
been there done that ,,,more than once, and im not reffering to the pilot ,but the catcher, and theres been occasions where ive had to run and grab a transmitter from a noob to prevent an imminent disaster
The guy flying the plane just returned to flying after a 10 year lay off. At the time, our temp. field was only about 30 feet wide. Tough for a guy with a little rust. Since this strip was temporary and free, we were lucky to have any flight line at all. Yes, the flight line was close but at least we had one. NO IT WOULD NOT BE FUNNY IF SOMEONE GOT HURT. There was slight damage to the plane. Broke a former and there was a handprint in the LE sheeting.
obvious as that may be to you mr. fruitaloopes, it may not be so obvious to another viewer who cold find themsleves in a similar situation and they, just by chance may rememeber that a bit of rudder would have avoided that potentially dangerous/fatal outcome.
What makes you think that the guy does know that now? do you know him? have you asked him? or are you so self centred that misguided that you just taken it that you consider that everyone else thinks the same as you?

$1000 for that bipe? that seems really high for something so small. the kadet looks slightly bigger, and a 10th of the cost, who's the fool?
plus who can argue with the way that thing floats in ground effect?

The stance and using both hands were great, but it's keeping his eyes on the plane that saved the day.

it's worse when you need to do that at a show because a pilot that should know better decides it's a smart idea to taxi back to the pitts

Either that, or should have kicked the plane trying to land.
