Go to see the actual opera, if it's within a reasonable distance from where you live. The whole of "The Ring" is rarely staged though. There's a Wagner festival in Bayreuth, Germany, but it's of course tremendously bothersome and expensive to be there - you gotta book tickets and accomodation way ahead. But I can't fathom a beer commercial with this as a soundtrack... That's audio inconoclasm IHMO

The problem is getting tickets at all because it has such a following worldwide and you have to be on a waiting list for years to stand a chance. That said, I saw the 'Ring' at Bayreuth last summer and it was magnificent. It was my seventh 'Ring' cycle having seen two different productions at Covent Garden, two from Scottish Opera, one from ENO and one from WNO. Not so rarely staged, I think.
