  • Wagner-znakomity klasyk, a jednak nigdy nie dorówna Beethovenowi czy Chopinowi.

  • Intro Style Wars

  • i played this when my hamster died.

  • Stunning!!!!

  • What beer commercial? WHICH King Arthur movie? For many it became famous because it's wonderful music, and one of the dramatic climaxes of the Ring cycle.

  • @dem24utube Excalibur (1981)

  • @dem24utube youtube.com/watch?v=IuOzte9Ugck

  • ........why is the music so low when i put it a 100% volume on a 64gbz sound system...sound system is not screwed up

  • No, I am saying I do love his music and think its great. But he as a human was not. You can admire the music without consider the man an all-around great person. None of us are perfect, but he was very racist. I cannot ever admire someone like that even if their music was indeed great. His life outside of music is well known. He was a womanizer and a racist, even though his music is indeed great. I listen to the music all the time, but I would kick the guy out of my house anyway.

  • A ccording to the testimony of someone who shared Hitler's bunker , Adolf liked the narrative content of The Ring, but he preferred operatic music listening to a recording of Lehár´s Merry Widow for endless hour during the last few weeks of his life.

  • I Remember this from the beginning of the film Excalibur...Awesome the way they matched the actor's movements in the film with the song perfectly!

  • Not all of these deserve all of our respect. Wagner himself was a strong anti-semite. His operas and beliefs help stoke the fires within Adolph Hitler. Would he have approved of Hitler's actions down the line. Who knows? But all out respect to anyone based on their vocation can be a little dangerous. Wagner also defaulted on loans and would rather run off than pay any bill he owed. He was a womanizer as well. Wagner was disgusting as a human aside from his amazing music.

  • @AltoMkVII All geniuses have faults - and I wouldn't find anything wrong with Wagner's faults.

You're saying he's in the wrong for having great and inspiring music? Hitler was obsessed with Wagner's music because it defines Germany. Maybe he would of, if Hitler had created a Greater German Reich after the War. We would have music like this and not 'FRIDAY GOTTA GET DWN ON FRIDAY' that is poising our young generation today.

You should be sad that no one produces music like this anymore.

  • Excalibur!

  • @DrmrGuy1979 is absolutely incredible how wagner was not included in teh final credits, your mistake is comprehensible.

  • one of the most atmospheric piece's of music ever written.....ever......simply awesome....

  • Go to see the actual opera, if it's within a reasonable distance from where you live. The whole of "The Ring" is rarely staged though. There's a Wagner festival in Bayreuth, Germany, but it's of course tremendously bothersome and expensive to be there - you gotta book tickets and accomodation way ahead. But I can't fathom a beer commercial with this as a soundtrack... That's audio inconoclasm IHMO

  • @ClaesCornelius It's neither bothersome or expensive to go to Bayreuth. The problem is getting tickets at all because it has such a following worldwide and you have to be on a waiting list for years to stand a chance. That said, I saw the 'Ring' at Bayreuth last summer and it was magnificent. It was my seventh 'Ring' cycle having seen two different productions at Covent Garden, two from Scottish Opera, one from ENO and one from WNO. Not so rarely staged, I think.

  • @metacarple Wow! I envy you!!! I've seen productions in Nice, Rome & Venice but grew up with a lot of Wagner music, via my granddad that sang at Bayreuth and my dad that had endless reel-to-reel tapes recorded from radio broadcasts. I better line up in the ticket queue right away... thanks for the tip!

  • No matter how much i try, i can not listen and separate it from the movie Excalibur-to me, the two are permanently ingrained in my mind.

  • Not bad. But no match for Ludwig the Great !!!!

  • @Lemonheart69 listen to the whole Ring and you'll be free from this "modern" chain!!!

  • katartikofrenetikus

  • Great!

    The Great Wagner.

    Unsurpassed.

  • This piece is a work of genius! Liszt students will be able to hear the Lisztian influence, diminished progressions and multiple key changes, open form etc.

FYI to the OP, it was very famous before the beer commercial or Excalibur.,,,

  • Nice to see history being revisited, if not rewritten.

Although it would be better to not list wikipedia as a canonical resource. It is not that I doubt their sincerity but rather the agendas of some of the authors.

This is a wonderful version of Siegfried's Funeral March, thank you williamofocham!

  • Yawn. You're done, and your impotent nerd rage is all you can muster. The problem remains the same, you're too ignorant to be able to grasp what I've told you. The fact that all you can cite is wikipedia, and repeatedly incorrectly, is embarrassing.

English is a far superior language, regardless of whatever you may think. Ironic, since you're using it right now to make a fool of yourself. More hilarious still, given the wide proliferation and success of the English language around the globe.

  • Comment removed

  • Since I have answered and completely proved wrong every point you've made, I hope you'll go away now and research them, and learn to speak English properly.

We are all inheritors of the Egyptian culture. But unlike the Greek peasants of today, it was the Anglo-Saxons that invented computers, space flight, & nuclear power. You people? Nothing. You fools can't even run your own economy properly LOL! So shut up forever and maybe the "barbarians" will bail your shitty country out. I win again :-)

  • When you open your eyes and discover that most forms of culture in Europe are simply modified versions of those found in Egypt, and that most cultures are in fact composites, made up from an enormous number of sources, perhaps you'll stop posting ignorant and stupid messages on youtube comment sections.

As much as it hurts, you'll need to come back to reality, and then go away and research Christianity, because you need to realise that Europe owes as much to this Jewish cultural form.

  • You keep talking about languages as though this means something. You've still conveniently ignored that the Greeks did not invent language, or the written form.

You clearly have no idea who the Mycenaeans or the Phoenicians were. Your ignorance is startling, regardless of the fact that you're a mindless cheerleader of Greece. How about the Persian empire? Do you think they too popped out of thin air? Haha I think you need to actually go away and study these things, you're embarrassing yourself

  • Comment removed

  • You've entirely missed the point again. Greek's stole the written form and their own language from the Phoenicians. Try again retard. Go and 'wikipedia' it if it helps you. I'd suggest going away and visiting a library, since the gaping holes in your very tiny information base are shocking. Greek language is not Greek, I repeat, it is taken from other sources. I shall not repeat this point again, go away and learn.

  • Comment removed

  • Mycenaeans were a copy-paste of Egyptian culture, and were the fore-runners to Greek culture, as were the Minoans. Ergo, Greeks are a copy-paste of Egyptians. Hahahahahhaa THEY EVEN MUMMIFIED THEIR ARISTOCRATS LOL! You're so stupid it's unbelievable. I can only assume that the Greek school system has suffered from decades of under-funding, resulting in someone as idiotic as yourself being produced and unleashed on youtube. Keep embarrassing yourself in front of us all kiddo.

  • Comment removed

  • You've missed the point entirely, once again. Mycenaean culture was itself a composite drawn from many other cultures, much older than itself, in the Mediterranean region. Which is exactly the same as the Greek culture and language, a composite, drawn from Minoan, Mycenaean, Phoenician, and Egyptian sources. Sorry you still aren't able to grasp this. Either way, you're an idiot, and you're completely wrong.

  • Comment removed

  • Greeks didn't invent anything. Their ideas and culture were stolen from those around them. What don't you understand? How can someone be so stupid as to think these things simply popped out of thin air. You truly are an ignorant moron :-D Go and study Egyptian history and culture, I have a funny feeling you'll shut up forever.

  • Comment removed

  • Indo-European tribes DO come from northern India and central Asia. How stupid can you be? The hint is IN the name. If you want to try going back further, they all come from Africa, so either way, you're completely wrong.

Again, the Greeks stole their culture, literate, religion, science, and everything else they had to pass on, from far older civilizations like the Egyptians. I know you clearly can't handle this fact, and it's obvious you know nothing of history. Try to get over it.

  • Comment removed

  • You keep citing wikipedia, but even wikipedia, as dire a resource as you, tells us that Indo-European tribes are from central Asia and northern India. I shall not revisit this point, as it is historical fact. Your childish and ignorant protestations cannot hide this.

The fact that you believe the Greeks invented polytheism is rather telling. You' are as they say, wilfully ignorant and conscientiously stupid. The Greeks stole just about everything from older cultures. You can't argue with fact.

  • Comment removed

  • Trace siegfriend back to 500AD? What are you talking about, you babbling retard? Hahahahaha the Germanic tribes of Europe were pagans long before Greek antiquity, but that simply points to an even more hilarious hole in your idiocy. Where do you think the Greek's got their entire culture and religion from? Let me guess, you also believe the Greeks invented polytheism? LOL. Imbecile.

  • Comment removed

  • Because you are clearly not a scholar of any kind whatsoever in the humanistic disciplines, allow me to inform you. There are two real kinds of language, oral, and written. Because a backwards, knuckle dragging pseudo-intellectual like yourself dwells in a basement, it clearly has never occurred to you that Germanic tribal history was passed on orally until the arrival of the Romans and the Latin script. Or are you denying the Germans had language before then? Fool :-) try again.

  • Comment removed

  • See, I can tell how stupid you are by the fact you have no idea what oral history or tradition is. Most stories and early histories were passed down orally before the invention of written form or tablets. Perhaps if you weren't so obviously ignorant, and too embarrassed to admit this to yourself, you could go away and research that for yourself. But you're an idiot, so that's unlikely.

Again, Greek's stole the written form from the Phoenicians and made their language. It's stolen, try again.

  • Comment removed

  • I can't really be any clearer about this. Greco-Roman culture did not pervade northern European culture, and yet they had been pagans for thousands of years before. This is historical fact, despite what your epic retardation may claim.

But this point is moot, since Greek polytheism is directly stolen from Egyptian polytheism, as is most form of religious ideology in the Mediterranean area. Try again, moron.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh dear. It appears I need to educate you about basic cultural details. Northern European culture was historically distinct from Roman culture. Are you so completely ignorant and stupid that you don't know it was the northern Germanic tribes that SACKED Rome? Bahhaaha you're a joke.

LOL! The fact that modern Europeans now use languages derived from Latin doesn't change the fact that we are simply using "Greek words" (stolen from other cultures) to articulate Egyptian thought. I win again.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • Thirdly if Roman Greek culture didn't exist, Europe would have a far greater number of indigenous languages instead of a few Latin based ones. Again, look at the Basques, native Europeans, with a far older civilization and language than ANY Europeans of the Indo-European variety.

But even in this, Greek language is simply a composite of stolen forms from far older civilizations. You're even more ignorant and foolish that I'd first assumed if you believe they magically invented it on their own.

  • Comment removed

  • Wrong again. How about Scandinavia? Roman culture pre-4the century never infiltrated the northern peoples, or the Celts. Hence today, they speak their own languages, with written form independent of Latin, as they have done for long before the Romans arrived on the scene. The same is true of the Basques. Again, you can't argue with historical fact, so I shall not be revisiting this.

I will repeat again, the Greek language and alphabet is Phoenician, stop fooling yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • I didn't say Celts lived in Scandinavia. Learn to read please. All European peoples excluding Basques and a few minorities, are Indo-Europeans. I've explained this before, if you can't understand it, or need to learn to read English properly, I suggest you go away and do that first.

And no, retard. Anglo-Saxon history does not begin in 400AD you dribbling moron. What a foolish person you are, and to think you're writing all your idiocy here for others to see hahaha!

  • LOL! You're an idiot. If Roman Greek culture didn't exist I REPEAT we would be speaking languages native to the British isles, just as the people of Scandinavia do. Nobody has denied that the English language is a Latin hybrid, but once again you've missed the entire point. The Greek language is Phoenician and it's written form stolen all the way back from the Egyptians. Again, learn basic history please. I can't believe you still aren't able to grasp this.

  • Comment removed

  • Yawn. You keep repeating "what if", we already know what 'would have' happened, because there are hundreds of examples of cultures in Europe alone that were untouched by Roman and Greek culture. Sorry to burst your retard bubble. Your reference to living in caves is again incorrect, you're thinking of the wrong period, ignorant fool. Once again, you are completely wrong, and these cultures would have developed just like the rest of the north European peoples. Try harder fool.

  • Comment removed

  • No, you are repeating idiotic assertions, which I am correcting. You've attempted to say that there were no other cultures or languages in Britain before the Romans arrived. That makes you an idiot. You keep repeating that we use a Greek language, but you still are desperately trying to ignore the fact that instead, we would be speaking the native languages, just like the Basques and Scandinavians do. You lose some more :-)

  • Comment removed

  • Your childish protestations, nerd rage and spamming capslock doesn't change the fact that I've totally proved everything you've said to be wrong , and destroyed your idiotic world view. I hope in future you'll actually go away and research things before typing stupid things on youtube comment sections.

I've had fun educating you, maybe I'll come back later and teach you some more actual historical fact when you've calmed down and stopped frothing at the mouth. Good day to you child :-)

  • Those "Germanic-English speaking tribes" come from India - Indo-Europeans. Greek culture looks like amateur hour compared to the Sumerians and Egyptians.

Kind of like YOU look like amateur hour, babbling about Greek heritage, when Greek heritage is borrowed from far OLDER sources. Does that mean we should learn Sumerian or Egyptian? If you still think yes, I suggest throwing yourself in the nearest fire.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh dear, it seems you still aren't getting this. European history does not start at 500ad. I'm not sure where you pulled this figure from, other than your anus. Secondly, European history from the 4th century AD onwards, is Christian, since it was the Roman empire that disseminated Christianity. Newsflash, Christianity is essentially Jewish. Try harder please.

  • Comment removed

  • Uh oh. Retard thinks that the British isles are populated solely by Germans. I suggest you go away and re-learn the patterns of migration that bombarded Britain for the last 2000 years, you dribbling fool. Even if we ignore the massive Celtic and native British population that lived in Britain prior to the Anglo-Saxon invasion, the French, the Vikings and the Italians all form part of our ethnic make-up. It is again, a composite culture. This history does not start at 500ad LOL! Retard.

  • Comment removed

  • LOL you still aren't getting this. Nobody is denying that the English language is derived almost entirely from Latin. That there were historically native languages already in the British isles is historical fact, and a separate issue that you've already lost.

HAHAHHAHAHAHA the British people stopped existing after the Battle of Hastings in 1066? LOL you're so stupid. I can't actually believe you said that. All the Celts & natives magically disappeared did they? Bahaha what a retard you are :-D

  • Comment removed

  • Finally, you admit that British culture and it's ethnic groups are a composite, made up of many different groups. I win again.

You're still entirely missing the point about culture. Roman culture was Christian from the 3rd century onwards. Christian culture is Jewish. Modern European culture owes its inheritance to Christianity. Christianity is a Jewish sect, not Greek. You lose again. Not that it matters, since the Greeks owe everything to the Egyptians. Need me to school you some more, fool?

  • poignante

  • beautiful

  • All musical geniuses such as Wagner, Williams, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Tchiaokovsky, Zimmer, Shore, Davis all deserve our respect and admiration no matter what race, political position, social class, or personal lifestyle.

  • arent all those you listed white lol

  • @Ravenous11yt ...so....

  • @finaldestiny17 It's very, very strange of you to put Williams, Zimmer, Shore, and Davis on the same plane as the likes of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Wagner. None of the former come even remotely close to the latter.

  • I wouldn't say so. Williams, in my opinion, is as least as great as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Wagner. The others may not be but Williams is for sure.

  • @HerrWagnerfreund I'm going to have to sort of disagree with you there.

  • So you don't think that, f.e., the Imperial March is as good as Siegfried's Funeral March?

  • @HerrWagnerfreund I don't. Far from it.

  • Is there any contemporary composer you'd call a modern Wagner?

  • @HerrWagnerfreund I can't think of one. Among film composers my favorites are Ennio Morricone, Bill Conti, and John Williams. But they're mostly done. Hans Zimmer has done some good scores too.

  • @Jitpring They are all amazing relative to their styles. Mozart and Wagner cannot be compared in that they lived in completely different eras. They made the best of what was available at the time.

  • @Jitpring Davis as in Miles Davis?

  • @finaldestiny17 Zimmer mentioned along with Mozart? Ok then I suppose we must add Puff Daddy to the musical genius list

    i dont understand, explain please.

  • The video sucks! But the music is sublime. I can never understand the desire by some to "modernize" everything, even that which is supposed to depict the barbaric dark ages. They say it is to enhance the greatness of the music. Fine! but don't give us this charade of modernity!

  • I agree. I have a recording with Wotan waving a spear and gun around in the same scene. It doesn't work at all.

  • Yeah unfortunately a lot of the talent these days just tries to get attention. the gun waving part is just to get you talking about it...and it worked. attention / publicity = money and that's all that counts it seems these days. :(

  • " I can never understand the desire by some to "modernize" everything"

It's because most directors are egoistic assholes who want to see their own slimy hand in everything and think they are worthy to tamper with something as immensely much above them as Wagner's music. Of course you can do some things different up to a certain point, but the scenery and libretto should always match.
