  • A bitter faster, and it does not use a second chord so obviously.

    Lyrics?

  • lovely, thanks.

  • Well played...must've been hard finding a left handed Dobro or National oe whatever it was...maybe the image got reveresed...that whiny E -string is really cool

  • Hi,yes It was a long wait to find a factory lefthanded Dobro in the uk in the eighties and a long way to hampshire from north wales by train for a country bumkin like my self, had to beg steal and borrow the cash too.20 years of playing took its toll, worn flat frets, collapsing cone and winey strings..she's just been recondioned, better than new, roll on the next 20 years.nice to get a comment from someone in the uk,cheers mate..bob.

  • Any chance you still know where to get hold of a left handed Dobro in the UK? Iv been looking for years and didnt even think they existed. Id be grateful if you could help.

Nice playing as well mate...good take on Bukka!!

  • nice!

  • WOW! That was great! Thanks so much for that!

  • DUDE u are mental

  • it awesome man. just closin your eyes and listenin to it. props.

  • thank you for putting what tuning your in in the info box... no one ever does that for some reason

  • Keni Lee Burgess does...:))

  • Nice! What guitar are you playing?

  • Dobro 33H.

  • gobsmacked!!this is the best REAL slide i've heard on pootube for some time!!thanx!!! stay koooooooool

  • I read somewhere that Booker T Washington White (Bukka) used open Dm after hearing Lightning Hopkins play. he wanted to be able to sort of hammer on from a minor to a major key more easily. that could be totally bullshit, but its the only thing i've seen that's made any sence to it.

Nice cover. there are things i didnt like about it... but the way i play it dosnt sound half as good, so i cant really give you less than 5 haha.

  • Nice playing, love the sound of resonators. And congrats on all the constructive comments, much better than the normal antagonism that posted!

  • Cheers, everybody's been very kind so far,its a big lift.

  • I'm a Welsh Deeside Delta bluesman and a Clwydian Hillbilly.

  • Very cool Bob.....How would the song work in opean Dmn...From what I understand thats what Booker mostly played in.

  • If you listen to Bukka's recordings or watch him on film there's on evidence he ever used Dm and if he did claim to use it I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

  • Hello Bob, If look at doing songs like"Plesae don't put your daddy outdoors",Mama don't allow no" "Aberdeen Mississippi blues" just to name a few he Keeps his first finger set at the first fret 3rd string to make the minor a major. Well what your doing sounds great...I'm only asking because I want to learn as much I can.....what do you Think?....P.S. I love the Blind willie songs stuff you do.....Great.

  • Thanks Frank I just watched them on the tube and you're totaly right and I'm totaly wrong,I had been listening to and learning from his early records for 20 years before I ever saw any film of him and he sounds like he's in open D even if he's in Dm because I dont hear the Minor because he fingers it out,so why use that tuning??He was a show man so maybe it was to add mystery or to hide his"tricks"???What do you think???

  • I know what you mean....I been listening to Bukka for years and had the same troble..Aberdeen and sickem on dogs and it woid drive me crazy. There was something that just wasn't right then bam it all started making sence.....I think he got that tunning from Patton and Skip James who use it alot....Pleas check out my clip on utube.I do my own take on a R.J. tune.

  • I'd be a fool to try to say I know more about waht Booker actually played in, but try tuning to open D and still stick your finger on the 1st fret 4th string down - then you get a Booker White sound...

  • Sorry Papa this doen't sound right to me.....Come on you other guitar players any input?

  • thank you so damn much for this video. bukkas music gives me the goose skin.please tell me how you tuned up for this wonderful piece. god bless you and bukke white

    is that a 29 national?

  • Thanks Edslides, its in open d tuning and I'm playing 80's Dobro fitted with a National cone.

  • Ca swing exactement comme je l'aime ! 5***** ! :)
