Gruntilda may have had a pretty simple plan in the first Banjo game, but I find her memorable for her rhymes, her abilities, and her quiz game antics. Plus, she gets a much better plan for evil in Banjo-Tooie.
On the other hand, I haven't played Whiplash, and I wish I could see some more of the scenes with Franklin D. Mann, though I guess Franklin is sort of Crystal Dynamics' Dr. Cortex.
Natla from original TR is WAY better then the one from Anniversary. And I only played Anniversary and saw 2-3 clips of the original here. From only that I must conclude that the remake has much poorer dialogue,
