  • Typed my comment before I watched the video. Wow. I feel like crying for some reason. They deserved so much better.

  • I bought Hardcase, Prime, and The Strangers and before I knew it, I was buying EVERYTHING!! And, like you, I wrote them and I got a ton of stuff, too. I used to even get copies of comics before they were even colored. In return, Dianne Botta (The Editor in Chief!!) just wanted my opinion of what I read. Simply amazing company. Thanks for making this video!!

  • @d21lewis Awesome story, thanks for the comments. :-) Totally agree with you, such a fan friendly company. And this was before the Internet age. And mail postage to fans actually cost them money. A great company and characters.

  • Hi Rob Loved the Anime series but never got the chance to read any issues but great review of a nice company ;).

They knew how to treat their fan base but why has Marvel has not kept their promise from 2005 of bringing the Ultraverse back, come on Marvel get the finger out please :(.

Great review of much missed company :).

  • @UltimateHulk32011 I got to watch that show and the Night Man live action series which I never saw all of, and speaking of which it's cool to know they had a TV series on one of their books. :-) A great company for the fans and it's nice to know people still remember their characters. Most companies that go under are quickly forgotten by most everybody. The Ultras refuse to go quietly into the night. :-)

  • @ComicToyReviews Hi Rob UltraForce cartoon series was never aired in the UK but it was in the R.O.I's R.T.E Network 2 ;).

Good Companies and their books just don't wander off into the sunset to you know Muwhaaaa..:).

Right off you go and watch "UltraForce" ;).

  • @UltimateHulk32011 The cool thing is the books page quality still is good and didn't yellow. Which is good for fans cause I doubt Marvel will ever reprint these books cause of financial reasons.

  • @ComicToyReviews Quality is everything and even Malibu put care into their paper and your correct the TNG of comic book fans will not get the chance to read a TPB :(.

  • This was a very cool video bro, thats really nice of them allways replying. So how many times did you write dc and marvel and they didnt reply?

  • @DavidLeeT Yeah they were great. :-) I'd say back then I sent overall the same amount of letters to the big two, as I sent the Ultras. It wasn't much and I almost never write, but I did send some stuff. With the Internet I really think it's destroyed that level of communication with publishers. I never write a book now that's for sure. That method is outdated now. And you can interact with comic creators and fans in the various forums.

  • Cool video--very informative

  • @maddwoba Thanks :-) A shame that universe couldn't continue longer, but the 90s market downturn really affected the industry and all the companies.

  • I remember that comp . My buddy lover those comics. Its a shame they left. That is a great story how the got back to you AND they send free comics VERY COOL !! Great vid as always BRAVO

  • @dreadnok320 Thanks :-) It's cool to know this company still has a bunch of fans who remember them. Those were good times in comics when I collected that stuff. And I couldn't believe how fan friendly. But as my next video on the topic will explain Marvel basically ruined the characters when they bought them, and they won't use them because they probably don't want to give financial royalties to these characters creators.

  • Great history and thanks for sharing you know how of the comic universe. That's cool they got back to you :) looks like they tried to be the new Marvel with all these characters. Wow... that's a lot of letters :) Very cool! So...how boxes to still go through? LOL!! :D Great quote at the end.

  • @devilstoysuk2 Thanks :-) Still got a few more videos to post then it's back to action figures. :-)

  • Very cool video. The only world I can come up with is fascinating. I would have been writing those guys left and right. Night Man was what Englehart wanted to do with his Shadowman at Valiant. Prime was great. And then they had George Perez show up. I always suspected this was a writer's universe after Mailbu lost the Image artist Universe. Great job man!

  • @howlermouse Thanks :-) Didn't know that about Night Man. Though I liked his Valiant work as well. Yeah it really was a writers universe mostly. A shame what Marvel did with the characters.
