@scesi1 That's not so. "The Satanic Verses" is a case in point. Also, Bukhari Hadith says parts of the Qur’an were missing and/or abrogated are vol.4:57,62, 69,229; vol.6:510,511 p.479-480. Since there were other versions of the Qur’an, some with 2 more Suras than others, Caliph Uthman ordered everyone to turn in their Qur’an and he’d issue a "standardized" version. Most Muslims believe the Qur’an is an exact copy of a tablet of the Qur’an (in Heaven - Sura 85:20-22).

Muslim apologists claim this too was abrogated but this is why people recite it differently throughout the world.

there are translations not version , you have versions of the bible : John , luke , matthiew , james, izekiel douay and so on ...Quran has been translated into many laguages so we are talking about TRANSLATIONS , many people translated the Quran into other languages which means they used different words. you must have read translation to say that. Hopefully, the speaker would have accepted Islam by now. If he hasn't yet, he should come into the folds of Islam sooner than later so that he is saved from eternal loss in the hereafter. The Holy Quran mentiones many facts that science even didn't think of then, and which have lately been verified/discovered by modern science. The creation of featus inside the womb of its mother, and its gradual structure has been mentioned in the HOly Quran much much ealier than modern science did find it out

@scesi1 That's not so. "The Satanic Verses" is a case in point. Also, Bukhari Hadith says parts of the Qur’an were missing and/or abrogated are vol.4:57,62, 69,229; vol.6:510,511 p.479-480. Since there were other versions of the Qur’an, some with 2 more Suras than others, Caliph Uthman ordered everyone to turn in their Qur’an and he’d issue a "standardized" version. Most Muslims believe the Qur’an is an exact copy of a tablet of the Qur’an (in Heaven - Sura 85:20-22).

5. Satan always throws something in with a prophet’s words (Sura 22:52) then God has to “cancel” it out. It’s why different sources record Sura 53:19-20 originally said intercession of 3 idol goddesses was okay. These are "The Satanic Verses" that were changed. Documented proof is in Ibn Ishaq, Wakidi, Ibn Sa'd and Tabari.

You also need to know that no prophet can come from the line of Ishmael b/c he was specifically excluded from the Covenant and nor is there any evidence that he or Abraham ever visited Makkah. my education and "the religious books" that lead me to know my GOD and to know which path I should take and my purpose in life.
Quran is definitely the greatest book on earth (at least from my point of view and the point of view of 1.8 BILLION Muslim around the world NOT ONLY IN POOR COUNTRIES)

didn't want my cultural/religious/family background to influence me (though I wasn't literate/aware enough about that background) but wanted to be convinced by logic about anything that I would find out.
so I researched/studied most of those religions/systems/literature & I respected most of them, knowing that I used to study not only what they say but also their controversy till I found out that although they all were great but Islam was perfection & I thank GOD & science (to be continued)

Till at one point i started to know that I'm never having enough so I started thinking about the purpose of life and as any Atheist I started having doubts in what I'm doing with my life so at the age of 33 I started studying all kind of "literature" about the purpose of life starting with the Buddhist, Jewish, Christian,etc... and kept the Islamic till the end as I (to be continued)

It seems useless answering every comment here, so I prefer to tell everybody what I have to say and its up to you guys. I'm a 37 years old man born as a Muslim then at the age of 19 I stopped practicing Islam and started to become an Atheist as I started to get impressed about the materialistic world.
And yes I was very successful at that where I got the so called "best Knowledge" "masters degree" got high positions in international companies with a huge income. (to be continued next comment)

There are many books written by normal mortals that don't claim to be inspired by god and are much more interesting than the quran. Well, you're not proving anything. It is true that all the advances in the XX centrury and before were made by the west. Muslim countries never won a Nobel Prize and are very poor contries. So, why do you make so much propaganda out of vague texts from the quran that can be interpreted in so many ways? The discoveries you mention were all made by the west, not by islam. The quran has nothing scientific. 67:5 says that "stars are missiles to shoot the devil" and not what they are, huge suns. In 41:12 it talks about 7 heavens, the old pagan belief that the universe was divided in 7 heavens. Today muslims try to say that "it is only referring to the 7 layers of the atmosphere", but 41:12 says also that "the stars are located in the closest heaven"...PFFFFFFFF! So it can't be the atmosphere. LOL..Too close

Quran was written during the lifetime of prophet Mohammad (peace and blessing be upon him), and since then we don't only read the Quran but also recite it as we memorize it all (604 pages in Arabic language including 114 chapters)
so we are actually 100% sure that the Quran is intact and 100% the words of GOD that came through prophet Mohammad.
A Sincere advice try to study more about the Quran and I'm sure you would have so much respect for this book even if you didn't believe it

If the quran was "so scientific" muslim countries would NOT be so poor, so backward. Muslims have not made any scientific, industrial invention and they live in high levels of illiteracy, ignorance. They never read and when they do, they read the medieval book, the quran. Not only does the quran say the the universe is made up of 7 heavens (41:12), but it talks about " a place where the sun sets" (18:83-86). So, according to the quran the earth is flat. Very scientific!

The surface of the earth i.e. earths crust is less than 30 miles in thickness and is very thin as compared to the radius of the earth which is about 3750 miles. The deeper layers of the earth are very hot, fluid and hostile to any form of life. The earths crust is a solidified shell on which we can live. The Quran rightly refers to it like a carpet spread out, so that we can travel along its roads and paths . Carpet can also be spread on other than an absolute flat surface
