@apricotsnms516 This was filmed at an airport runway in the town of Tracy. We needed flat an long to test out this instructors dream of making HG accessible to anyone safely. from 7 to 70yrs. old. It has been done successfully. This airport has an airshow every year, and this exhibition was a highlight for ground dwellers and potential students for this instructor. He spent months building it, needed a test dummy so I volunteered. Put my son on it and did he have a story to tell his buddies.
@glendeco Oh ok, gotcha. That's really cool that he did that. Reminds me of that "practice wheelie truck" where they have a sport bike tied down and anybody can try to wheelie on the rollers it's on.
I would like to build a trainer like this myself only on top of the car instead of on a trailer. Thanks for posting the video and showing that it really works.
Pretty cool, but i think the :rock" is from the slight lash as the glider goes from one outer tether line to the other. As you say the bungees were not on . They would do well in absorbing lash peak loads. Happy training. Interesting. Scott Newman HG instructor Canada
I think it is a safe way to get perspective pilots a taste of what it's like to fly, and to get the student to trust the wing, and equipment. If they enjoy that, then they can continue with the ground training, foot launch, flair, etc. Student or not, everyone gets a kick out of it. Peace, my brotha!
Awesome! Great trainer, go with it!

@glendeco It was intended as a joke haha. It's just weird looking into nothing for miles when I lived in Utah for most of my life...
