  • this was great.

  • Johnny sheffield .Mad as a hatter best tarzan ever ,enough said.

  • Cheetah died today aged 80

    RIP old boy.

  • Not sure how true this is, but I was told that: 1. He was an Olympic swimmer and 2. He was mentally ill. Apologies if I am wrong.

  • UNGAWA-meaning great job on this clip--some very very rare pics-wow

  • great pics but the music is not right- sorry- would have been much better with the old musical score from Tarzan Finds A Son.

  • Johnny didn't play Tarzan, he wás Tarzan.

The greatest hero of my youth.

Rest in peace Johnny. You deserve to be remembered forever.

  • He was Hungarian like me that I'm proud of it.

    I love his movies.

Kár hogy szinkronosat ritkán találni. :-/

  • i have watched all the tarzan films and i loved them just because johnny was so good in them and to me he will always be the best tarzan*~

  • Best Tarzan ever hands down. Buster Crab wasn't bad nor Gordon Scott but Johnny was the best. Also, best "Boy" and Jane ever.

  • El mejor tarzan de todos los tiempos, no va haber ni habrá otro mejor.. =)

  • Great Vids, I worked at Silver Springs in Florida where most of the Weismueller Tarzans were filmed.

Lived next door to his old house also.

Really cool, I love these vids.

  • Did you know Jimmy Durante had star in the first Tarzan movie..way before Johnny...it was knock-out funny

  • He was Hungarian.

  • Weismuller had such a natural way of moving on screen no matter what he was doing, a true great natural athlete, he could swim, swing, run with such grace, and he had a great love of animals that they returned, he was never hurt by a animal in all the jungle films he made. As Tarzan, Jungle Jim,later as himself in jungle films he was and is the only king of filmdom's jungle, when he died as his coffin was lowered his Tarzan yell was played at his request.

  • All the actors who played Tarzan had wonderful bodies, but Johnny had those exotic facial features and they made him ideal for the role. Nice video!

  • He was indeed a handsome German man.

  • Amen!

  • his mother was jewish !

  • @77Merav AND ??????

  • Nice ! thanks !

    Happy Birthday, Johnny Weissmuller!

This would've been his one-hundred and sixth birthday :(

    RIP Johnny Weissmuller (1903 - 1984)

  • No, Tarzan was born in 1904!!!

  • I really enjoyed this tribute! I have just recently finished watching all of his Tarzan movies. They were so much fun. I love Maureen O'Sullivan too. What music is this? It seems to fit so well.

  • The music is actually three pieces edited together. The main piece is titled 'Swing and Sway'.
