  • @Ilovegrayhounds123: no I don't think you should get one for your gerbil because the cage will be too small. People say that it's too small for a Syrian hamster aswell but mines fits in it but I still don't think it should be a good cage for a gerbil

  • i need help, my hamster is a syrian and 6 months old and i have 4 cages all connected together with these special 4 way tubes (the yellow big sphere tube on the rotastak tunnels of fun) and my hamster cant climb it because its slidey! lol! anyway i can fix it? and next im getting 3 dwarfs and they will never climb it!

  • I was wondering what you think about gerbils living in rotastak cages. I've read loads about it being bad but i don't really think its that much of a problem.

  • hi me agen i av the creepy castle tubes for the rotastak cage

  • rite i have a haitrail ovo and a rotastak cage will the tubes still join togther as i really want to join them plz hlelp me

  • I have 2 mice and I have a crittertrail dazzle and I was just wondering where you get the habbitrail cages because I go to Petco to get my food and bedding? Hope u have the time to answer.

  • I buy my habitrail cages in my local petshop, but I haven't been able to get the accessories for the habitrail cages where I live. For those, I go to Ebay.

  • did jazzy die??

  • Yes, of old age...She was more than 2 y/o; pretty good for a syrian in the tropics!

  • hmmm. that would be useful. unfortunately, my cat is stronger then the proverbial sledghammer. (little bugger)

  • Ah, I hear ya! I've got two jack russells, which is why I keep my hamsters in my spare room, where my dogs aren't allowed to go. They'd doubtless be able to break the tubes apart, too!

  • is rotastak better than habitrail ? i have rotastak at the minute and i want 2 extend on it

  • I think the tubes are stronger, but it's more of a pain the clean them out. I think both brands have their good and weak points, but once you understand what you can and can't do with them, you can use them both safely. And having both give your hamsters twice as much fun!

  • I use mouse ladders in my tubes and never extend upwards by more than a tube or two (the short, clear coloured tubes.) The curly, plastic tubes I position so that it is not too hard for them to climb. Over time they build up the strnegth to do so, but I am very careful about designing their home to suit their capabilities.

  • ya i no they look like both really get brands

  • With the Rotastak, limited air-circulation is limited in some pieces. Every few days I take both of the hamsters out, open it up and put the room fan on high, to get rid of any stale air. But it lasts for years, with good care.

With the Habitrail, some of the clear plastic goes a milky colour after a while, even if you don't use abrasive cleaning products, but my hamsters have all loved the silent wheel. Give them both systems and they can choose exactly what they want, when they want!

  • I have 2 robos so i'm wondering are any of these tubes suitable for them?

  • Sure, I can see how yu could think that if you don't live in the UK and don't have Rotastak, but if you did live in the the UK and could get both Habitrail and Rotastak, joining the two systems opens up endless possibilities for your hamster! Both systems have strong and weak points, so my hamsters now get the best of both worlds!

  • never mind it is an good idea sorry

  • Wow there was no point of that?
