There's a lot of controversy over whether this should be remade. I'm one of those people who's on the fence. On the one hand, it would be awesome to see the game as shown in Advent Children and Crisis Core - plus, I would KILL to hear Liam O'Brien speak more than ONE line for Red XIII. But, on the other hand, this game is such a classic, and part of its charm comes from the graphics as they are now. (It's kinda like playing the 8-bit Nintendo games.  They have a charm that newer games don't.)

I'm not a fan of the remake idea. I play and love VII and it has a quality I can't even describe in words. I would still play a remake for sure, but I'm happy to see SE working on completely new installments. Besides, all I wanted was for the back catalogue to be made online for download (legally) and now that VII is on there (not too sure about the others), I think it's enough that we can play the game without shelling out so much for a used copy.

I'd like a remake, but only if it stayed faithfull to the original. I wouldn't mind a more in-deph view of the FFVII-World and some cool new battle sistem, but they should leave out all the retcons and additional Sue-ish Characters from the sequels...

When I saw this FMV settling things with sephiroth became as personal for me as it was for Cloud. This is mainly due to the fact that I had got Aeris' level somewhere of 60 and after he killed her off my hardwork was pointless(sob) I've hated him ever since and I was only eight back then.
