I'd also try to use the Clone Stamp tool as well. You have to sample an area in the same way, and it copies over the area you sample to where you paint. Very helpful with removing things. (Also you can merge the selected layer down by pressing CTRL+E

@maria90810 After copying a part of the image to put over whatever he's replacing, he moves the selection up or down a couple notches in order to line it up. You can do this by clicking and dragging with the mouse, or more precisely by pressing your arrow keys.
