  • UPS envelopes are not paid for by the taxpayer. Your assumptions here are incorrect. USPS, yet but not FedEX or UPS.

  • If you ever get a shipment with envelopes/padded paks from other couriers as packing material, email the company and inform them how that's abuse of their account with such couriers, and take those paks/envelopes to the post office / hub / retail location of the respective courier, they'll gladly take them back and give them to other customers who need them for tendering shipments.

  • Priority Boxes now can not be turned wrong side out as they are printed on the inside as well. People still do use these boxes and the packaging tape for uses other than what they are for. Could this be considered a Federal offense?

  • I bet the same ones ragging on the person in this video complain about the federal deficit & how the government needlessly spends.

One solution to help with USPS's money woes: Do away with free shipping supplies.

BTW, I constantly see free packing material & boxes on Craigslist. I use newspaper, peanuts & bubble-wrap, ALL free, of course. But personally, I think peanuts & bubble-wrap look WAY more professional, but I can never resist the funny pages - even the Chinese ship with newspaper.

  • dude tax payers do not pay 4 it it paid 4 by postage and service read usps about section

  • You are Stupid! the packing is done by the shipper not by the carrier! even if it is a pack and ship like UPSSTORE. They all sale the service. Franchises that are Individual owned and those packing material are FREE!

  • @maicolombia but he has to pay to pick it up

  • @pokebattler831 So?? I just dont see how this is a scam. I mean I have gotten USPS packs with UPS packing materials. You can actually send a UPS letter in a priority envelope, The curriers profit from the Shippment not the Packing materials. NOBODY is charging for those envelops so it is not scam if anything its free propaganda.

  • I am amazed that the boxes were not inside out ups/fed ex boxes need to do a video on that.

  • I go to the UPS Store all the time and I am see in UPS people improvising with there own envelops and boxes as package material.

  • how does this effect you at all man you just got a bunch of free envelopes and how do you know they were actually the ones who packed it in sure when you ship something you dont just give them the thing you send and tell them to pack it the place you payed for you item did that not USPS

  • Your the scammer. you scammed me out of 3:37 minutes of my life

  • atleast you got free envelopes

  • i agree with AL5EZ lol

  • so who are you accusing UPS or the person who packed the box? Secondly people can use whatever they want, Who in the He!l made you or put you in charge of The Proper way of packing a Box? Get a Life Dudue, By the way what about the Employees of the Post Office Stealing Millions of Dollars of Mail every year for their own purposes? Anthing from Credit cards to stealing payroll checks and gift cards? What about that? Instead of rambling on about a piece of paper, Who Cares!

  • dude i go to the fucking usps all da time and get free everything shyt i even get free rolls of tape so stfu and stop complaining atleast you got ur shyt and it wasnt damaged

  • You're an idiot. Those came from whatever office had all of the supplies and packed YOUR stuff with them, it wasn't the companies. It was businesses that our using THEIR OWN PURCHASED parcel envelopes for packing material because apparently all the shipping NUTS are in your head. Ya dolt.

  • It' not from scammer It just used to padding as wrap around item . sometime i get free padding bag free so I used to put padding wrap item to shipping so I dont have to pay real padding from store .... U are an IDIOT !!!!!

  • Those envelopes could always be reused. They're crumpled but not written on! You need to use your brains! People who do this are brilliant! If anyone ever does this with me I reuse the envelopes for their intended purpose and it saves me time actually since I readily have the mailing materials I need.

  • And you are committing a CRIME BY OPENING OTHER FOLKS MAIL!! Thats the least that USPS, FedEX, and UPS can do is provide us with packing materials the way they throw our packages around even if marked FRAGILE!! SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU LIL PUSSY!!!

  • Seriously i spend close to $50,000 in USPS Shipping a year. I use their shipping supplies for extra protection. I have thousands of most Priority boxes and envelopes in my shipping office. I ALSO ship and label ALL my shipping and pay the same price as the people who ship their items at the counter...I think that alone saves the USPS a ton of money from ME DOING THEIR JOB. On top of that most USPS employees are extremely rude and have no reason to treat their customers with respect.

  • all yall haters need to shut up yeahhh broo this happened to me before

  • ITS FREE. If they give them to me for free and i use it for USPS Mail service i can use it. Plus most of the packing needed is because they do a TERRIBLE job of shipping items and THEIR FREE Boxed are not suitable for their own shipping methods often damaging any items in them. ALSO USPS falsely raised shipping prices under false pretenses. Example. Raising prices due to inflation while we were in a period of heavy DEFLATION. Also check out other countries SH rates, China..WOW almost nothing.

  • I sell on ebay and use 100% recycled / trash picked packing material. I agree with your point. Report them.

  • wow... you need a life

  • Ahhhahah, you're a fucking dumbass. In case you didn't know USPS, UPS, AND Fed-Ex work together at times. UPS delivers a lot of USPS' shit (Which oh by the way, USPS is going out of business) and and UPS and FED-EX trade off shit as well. Get a hobby.

  • OMG are you serious did they really do that JK who fuck!ng cares you dont like it then get the F.U.C.K. out of the country your the same type of person that would b!tch if they didnt wrap your stuff and it was damaged just looking for something to complain about thats whats wrong with the country letting morons like you live hahaha

  • dude,seriously.......go get laid or something

  • use them yourself they are givving them too you

  • I agree with Midwest Watchdog most people who have posted fail to understand nothing is ever free and also, even though they make so much money doesn't mean they are going to dish out money for waste. Sooner or later they are going to pass the buck onto the customer or levy limits on supplies which hurts everybody. NO one has the right to mooch off one company to save their own money. too many people here have no understanding on what business operates. sooner or later we all pay.

  • and now thats a short video of how noobs ship theyre things

  • Also, most of the major facilities and distribution centers in the USPS chain were built well after 1970, and even if they weren't, the machinery within them is all newer than 1970. So no, taxpayers aren't losing money. Really, you think the USPS doesn't already print more envelopes than they actually sell?

  • USPS priority mail envelopes aren't government property. If they have been given to or bought by a company, then the company is free to do with them as they please. Just the same as if you receive a package, you're free to reuse that box or envelope again for anything, even send it through the mail once again (so long as you repay postage appropriately). Really, the USPS wastes more money on unused or briefly used printer paper than they do on people using their envelopes for other uses.

  • I agree with your point. This mis-use costs these companies money. In the long run, that cost will be passed on to consumers.

  • NO ONE CARES DUDE IF YOU WANT TO SAVE MONEY TOO JUST KEEP THE PACKS FOR YOURSELF DMAN!!!

  • They Been Doing This For Years. Who Cares

  • the person who sent you these packages should be shot dead in the streets. pieces of shit! Im with you....people wasting shit....what assholes.

  • Use the unused envelopes and shut up XD

  • @oOSONERONEOo HAHA I KNOW RIGHT THAT WHAT I JUST SAID TOO LOL

  • The title is misleading "US Postal Service Scams"

  • 1. USPS provide packaging supplies for free in agreement to use their services.

    2. UPS provide packaging supplies for free in agreement to use their services

    3. Fedex does the same thing.

It's the law. If we abuse these services, these companies will start charging for these supplies, and everyone else who is abiding by the law will be affected due to the misuse of these free supplies. Yes, the time will come that it will no longer be free. Please be mindful citizens, that's all.

  • i dont get it so what's so bad about using inused usps envelpoes

  • fuck u fuck u

  • the shipper saved money and you just got free envelopes.. its a win win

  • Man this guy is a total idiot.

Sir please go get a hobby.

Get a hooker just get a life.

  • it only cost 50cents IF YOU USE THEM, the envelope only cost about 2 cents and they are just trying to make sure your stuff is packed nice and tight so its undamaged. i hope they just throw your crap in a box and let it get tossed around and break on your ass

  • MidwestWatchdog does have a point. I mean, it seems like this doesn't really matter to us, but it in a way does. When people use these supplies, sure it's only $0.50, it will hurt the company because lots of people are doing this, not only 1. It's also not that good for the environment. Something air-filled "crunched newspaper" will take up a lot of volume without much materials, which is what you want. I mean, don't blame USPS when the postage price goes up. Blame these cheaters wasting money.

  • Here one story. Check this out. I shipped a phone to my sister with USPS Medium Flat Rate Box. But the shipping box was so large for phone box. I asked to postman what should I put inside the box? I took 5 or 6 express mail envelope and smashed them. Then he put all 6 envelope in the flat rate box and there you go. I did not need a bubble something to pack the box. If USPS employee does this thing, everyone could do it.

  • Look men, if you have a problem with this, then do something. Here is an ideal. Instead of making a video and crying. Why wont you take all those envelopes and give them to the neatest post office.

  • LOL!

  • i think it's not usps it's where u brought the stuff from

  • Wow, really dude look at it this way, they used it to pack your stuff, now you have some shipping stuff, you can use those there is your 1 cents in a stamp that they raise a price like 100 times over in the things they use to pack it with you just made your money back, still gonna cry?

  • We did have a seller that was turning the Priority Mail boxes wrong side out and using them for parcel post mail to us. The U.S. Postal Service knows that this has been going on for years but now they are imprinting the inside of the boxes as well now.

A used package being used again is understandable and could be thought of as recycling, but using new boxes for a company that sends out on a regular basis should not be doing this.

  • dude at least you got your mail!

i dont get half my mail

  • Asshole

  • I have my own opinions on the USPS. Of course when was the last time the US Govt was efficient at anything? They can be fixed easily, they just dont want to be. I will stick with other carriers for parcel shipments as they are cheaper than the USPS in every way. My regular under 1 ounce mail will stay with USPS. And Yes, for a company that does large mailings this way, is total BS.

  • dude calm down they do that #1 because it is there company so they can use there stuff as packing meaterial and #2 you can reuse the bubble mailers when you ship some thing so that saves you about $2 so they save money and you save money and get your stuff to your house with out it breaking to me that is a 50/50 deal calm down

  • You got way to much fucking time on your hands.

  • free package bags....

  • I manage a UPS store and I must say this is a major problem, I have people come into my store every single day asking for free boxes and free envelopes which cost us money, very rarely do I see these boxes come back to be shipped. Everyone wonders why the cost to ship something is so high, and here is the reason, if everyone wasnt trying to scam us out of free envelopes/bubble mailers/boxes/ and whatever else we give away, it would be MUCH more affordable to ship packages.

  • who gives a shit if its padded then use it i rather have people do that then to have stuff break then for the receiver to get a damaged product then to tell the shipper then we get sued for " miss treating" the box ..... soooo blow it out your asss

  • DUDE STOP BEING A LITTLE GIRL

  • DUDE STOP BEING A LITTLE GIRL

  • DUDE STOP BEING A LITTLE GIRL

  • so are you going to boycott the USPS because they use Fedex Air to transport your mail?

  • You must of been the kid in school who was the hall monitor ( the tattle tale) and the same guy who everyone just picked on I agree with with spudmonkey64 SHUT THE FUCK UP go save a tree or something As for you video how do we know that you didnt put that stuff in there The boxes were open already

  • sounds like your gripe is with your shipper...the company that you chose to do business with....so quit your complaining and contact the shipper and don't do business with them anymore

  • good job on the video!!!! :)

  • good job on the video!!!! :)

  • Unethical but not illegal, no it's not right but what can you do they are effectively given away for free.

  • you should be supporting local business. think of all the emissions because you didn't feel like taking the bus to best buy...

you should return them to their respective companies.

  • i just love the sound of unpacking boxes and all the plastic bags that come out the box :P

  • Who the fuck cares? That is actually a good idea to be honest.

  • I wanted to thank you for making this video. I work for the USPS & it is true that the misappropriation of Priority & Express supplies runs rampant. In the end not only does the USPS lose but also our customers will lose ~ the customers will lose by paying increased rates for mailing Priority & Express items. Why just this Jan. 2010 our rates were increased. And sadly that may not be the end of it, Saturday delivery's to your home mail boxes may cease as well as closures of many rural PO's.

  • Now you can use that packing material to ship something. You got your memory. Quit complaining.

  • All of the packing supplies are free!!!

Who cares if you use it as packing material.

  • The postal service is not funded by tax money !

  • LOL. I once got a package from UPS that was a inside out cut in half US Postal Service box.

  • Comment removed

  • companies actually get those padded packs for free when they have an account with the shipping company. USPS, FedEX, and UPS will give them those stuff for free. you are crying over spilled milk. quit bitching. at least they didn't just ship you your stuff with no padding at all.

  • @PrimeraG20

No, youre wrong, they are not actually free. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Someone has to ultimately pay for these pouches - Fed-Ex and UPS don't run a charity - they dont just give stuff away for 'free'.

These courier companies may say that they are giving these satchels to account holders for free, but what theyre actually doing is charging higher shipment costs to make up for their loss in satchels. Believe me, this is how it works. Nothing is for 'free'.

  • This is a hella good idea

  • This does not cost you any more money because if they ARE a US company then they're using their own property. If it's not then they had to have BOUGHT all of those. You make it seem like they stole them. No matter which way you try to spin it nothing bad is going on.

  • get a life man this is something very stupid use your time better. if that was law over your life time you would probably spend maybe a droller more on mail spend your time on something more worth while

  • tool

  • If its a company, maybe they ordered ''bought" all this stuff, and ran out of bubble wrap, you never know.

Also fed x and ups are not government run.

  • Thats a really good Idea,

    Thanks for the tip

  • USPS is not not funded by taxpayers. They just dont pay taxes. Get your facts straight. UPS and Fed Ex make so much profit dollars over the USPS. USPS has a monoply on 1st class mail, UPS and fed ex cannot deliver 1st class? Why dont you reuse those packaging materials with the proper carriers and help not bitch. You probably bitch about packing peanuts killing the environment too. If the government runs the USPS, could you imagine what they will do for healthcare?

  • The USPS was a US Government department until 1970 so it has sucked plenty o taxpayer money. Currently it is $10.2 Billion in debt. Who do you think will bail them out?

How much % of this debt is waste?

I have no responsibility to try and contain USPS waste myself, I am only pointing it out in hopes others will help do what is right.

Bringing points to attention is not bitching and if it is then I am happy to bitch up a storm!

  • @Camsdad13 the government does not run the post office, they simply regulate what they can do by law. on the other hand they do have the authority to remove the piss poor management in place that is currently running it into the ground. do they have the courage and integrity to do so? i doubt it.

  • @Camsdad13 man your a fucken idiot, then if your shit comes broken shut the fuck up, reuse the empty envelopes if you want theres 50 cents for you no cost. pussy

  • wtf atleast they wrapped your shit

    so it wouldnt get damaged

so shut the fuck up and stop complaining...

complain when someone doesnt use shit to wrap your stuff!

  • You have missed the point. They could have wrapped it in newspapers or anything else that does not cost me more money in stamps and shipping due to waste.

  • really man just shut the fuck up ... you can not bitch at companies for saving money ... so you think it is wrong to use usps and ups packing materials and raise the stamps up by 1 cent or charging you 5 bucks so that the companies can buy materials to ship shit

  • @spudmonkey64

No, I think they are wasting your money too. The only problem is you either don't care or you don't understand.

  • no i dont really fucking care

  • @MidwestWatchdog Or he does not pay taxes. Clearly this is a waste of money, but you can re-use those unused UPS & FedEx .

  • This is like blaming grocery shoppers for raising food costs because they double bag heavy items!!! pull your head out! If you really want to fix USPS, don't worry about this. Fix the mismanagement inside the system which is wasting billions. How can UPS and FEDEX be profitable and USPS loses mas amount of cash every year? Because USPS mismanaged. Thats the problem.. The people doing this are the ones keeping USPS afloat. They are the biggest USPS customers. Without them USPS wouldn't survive.

  • @spudmonkey64 I KNOW RIGHT!!1

  • @seth1852 the point is they should have wrapped his stuff in some other (non-Government subsidized) packaging! The only time it is suitable to use this packaging is already used (it has been paid for & cannot be re-sealed), or as the outside for an appropriate service. I.e. A USPS Priority Envelope MUST only go via USPS, and Priority Mail MUST be paid! Anything else and you are stealing.

  • @seth1852 would you pay like fucking extra money oh wait of course not nobody does dumbfuck

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sure they do charge for the envelopes and usually they aren't free. Who knows why they were used as packing material? Maybe they ran out of packing peanuts and didn't want to turn a customer away.

  • If I got all those free, unused bubble-mailers I would feel lucky and not complain.

    That's just me.

  • not right thanks for wacthing out

  • wow interesting

  • thanks them. i have free envelopes now. Get over it.

  • Why don't you just say thank you to whoever sent them to you. You now have shipping envelopes to use and saved the governement money as they didn't have to ship them to you!!

  • All you people that are leaving hate comments, and probably 14 year old kids that don't pay taxes, and understand what exactly what them using shipping envelopes is doing to the economy. they are using millions of tax payer's money just to save a couple bucks in the GROSS Income. It's corporate corruption.

  • I am surprised at the hate comments on these, people apparently don't know how to add.. Can you google the current population of the U.S.? K. Now multiply that by the 50 cent envelopes used as packing material in each box...It adds up quick. As this guy said, it's tax payers money and its YOUR money going to waste, because lazy friggen people. Use newspaper, or BUY packing material instead of being an idiot. I can't count how many times I've needed mailers and they were out at USPS or Fedex..

  • .... so burn the packing material......

    who cares.

    fucking hippie

  • People are dying across the world and dangerous countries are producing nuclear weapons and all you can worry about is postal service packing material?!

  • oh no the post office is losing $3!

THE SANDY VAGINA DEMANDS VENGEANCE FOR THIS MOST HEINOUS TRANSGRESSION

  • dude u have 7 extra envelopes. STFU. Get another job if its too much money dumb-ass.

  • what did you buy dildos

  • does this even matter?

  • yes dumbass we're paying for those envelopes

  • Please, quit your bitching.

  • we dont care, stop crying

  • Maybe you should quit smoking all that dope and you would care.

  • are you serious dude? quit bitching you make no sense.

  • stop ordering online moron

  • wow stop bicthing if it is that big of a dill use them for you own use then.

you are probly riping then benfits when you buy from who ever it is you are buying from if they use other packing they mite charge you more to ship to you so look stop bicth you danm hippie....

  • OMG! LEARN TO SPELL, FREAK!

  • I agree, usually I don't, but spelling might as mite is just too funny.

No big dill pickle. Every time I read it it make me lol.

  • He is right, because of the unauthorized use of these expensive envelopes the buck stops at your wallet. Plain and simple. ..

  • WHY ARE YOU BITCHING GUY? ..... i will be happy because i dont have to buy 1 of those fuking things .... i got a free shirt 1 time and a dog toy so fuk it i kept the shirt gave it to charity lol na tossed it and my friend gave his dog the toy lol

  • Each day is really no big deal. Each hour is really no big deal. Each minute is really no big deal until it is your last minute. How will you spend your last minute?

  • Talk about someone who just likes to find absolutely anything to complain about. People like you disgust me. They complain about absolutely everything

  • So you got some free, unused, shipping envelopes and you felt the need to complain about it? Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Sure, they may not be intended for packing materials, but I guarantee you it would cost the USPS more money to investigate the misuses rather than allowing them to continue, and they really don't have the extra money lying around for that.

  • Good catch! But now you've got some new packing material and/or new packaging to send stuff with, without going down to the USPS to get it.

The USPS knows exactly that people are using their free Priority Mail envelopes, boxes, etc. for other purposes other than what they are intended for. My roommate works for the USPS and I've read articles in the 'magazine' they print for carriers regarding many situations like this. They really don't care because they know what is going to happen...

  • Thanks for showing me this...I never would have thought of using these for packing material.

  • Another wasteful thing is when people and offices use the large Postal Service plastic buckets for other than their [ mail carrying ] purpose. I've seen them used as laundry totes, recycling bins out at the street on garbage day, etc. There is a warning printed on the sides of those plastic buckets that clearly states that a person can be criminally charged and fined $300 for the theft or misuse of them. I spill people's recycling all over their lawn and "repatriate" them when I see them.

  • These are not examples of US Postal Service Scams...these are examples of how people and companies SCAM the POSTAL SERVICE by using Postal materials to pack their boxes with.

  • Eh, lighten up. Nobody is going down for a couple envelopes. It's when a guy goes out and makes furniture out of USPS boxes. Why don't you take the unused packaging to your local fedex store, then it's even better than regular packing material you just throw away. I know it's a lot of work to ask a customer to return the packaging, well... a customer like you, I'd assume you'd care.

  • ups and fedex are not government are they? as far as usps they are the idiots that have no fiscal responsibility, so why do they care anyway? i say take advantage of the system where you can, they are screwing the hell out of us anyway, people are just to stupid to realize it! (must be the flouride and chemtrails and flu shots hahaha)
