  • @MrJoiner5 3 Amens!

  • This reminds me of my father! i love old school music, this reminds me when life was great and less ignorance, and most of all music was REAL MUSIC!

  • Too true, life was hard with no mobile or the internet so we had to mingle, party, talk and make friends as we judged them not like facebook, our kids don'y understand what we are talking about, if I got lost in another neighbourhood they would ask where I am from then take me and have a good time in there neighbourhood, I made sure I saw those guys that did that to me and returned the favour big time, to this day we are all still good friends 30+ years later.

  • Is it normal to feel wet after thi song or is it just me

  • let's take a walk ;)

  • Musically speaking, man we had it GOOOOD....and sadly didn't even KNOW it at the time...it was just music in the background - albeit loving every minute of it, but the activity during its' play took precedence.....Fast forward to today... hey, we DAMN WELL know it NOW bwaa...and that's from an 'ol playa !

  • Who are the 6 people that don't like this song? Are you kidding me? Really, are you kidding me??? Gimme a break...and hold the onions! This is a jam, no doubt!

  • wow sometimes it's like stump the band with you cats on youtube, i name some obscure tune, and you gems posted it 3 years ago. okay, found one, who's gonna post "walkin on the shoe with my baby, once more, once more" no idea whose tune that is, but you do

  • Well said MrJoiner5! Well said!! From an ole school cat -1956.

  • You have to have a soul in order to create soul music....You feel me? Souless creatures are walking the earth today. This is real.Listen to the so-called music of today. That is...if you too have a soul.Hotep.

  • Great jam by the Blackbyrds. It came out in 1975, not 1978.

  • i notice alot of comments from older folks telling the younger folks that they are ignorant and violent now....before you speak about the young generation REMEMBER it was your generation that abandoned these kids....fathers running out on their own children, mothers spending money on drugs instead of food for the kids.... if parents were in their lives in the responsible manner they should have been then the "young generation" you talk down on would resemble that.. enjoy the great song

  • @MrJoiner5 yess indeed, you show right meosha@5959

  • high school days. oh yea!

  • 2 sour souls ain't never been to rock creek park.

  • Another BAD JAM from back in the day. Times were much easier back then. These young folks don't know nothing about this.

  • "Rock Creek Park" was on the City life album . It did not come out in 1978. The album was released in 1975

  • Nowadays u just get robbed in rock creek park.

  • i remember growing up in red hook brooklyn, thinkin they was saying coffe park

  • WHFS; 102.3 in Bethesda, MD. Circa 1972; around 2 a.m.

  • This is the type of music that replenishes you... at the soul level

  • An old school jam when dancing was all about the love of the music and pure souls of the artists. It was in this time when music was all about educating the public about different styles lots of dancing!!!

  • @emadex how d'you think you were conceived? this song might well be the answer!!

  • @Schnackmaestro - I shudder to think of my parents "doing it" at any time, let alone "in the park, after dark"!!

  • @emadex that's whurrre it's goin' down. well. no accusations and let's of course keep a psychologically healthy distance to our parents' evening joys and just dig the music. anyways, this enjoyment is of course augmented by the definite notion of sleaze!!!

  • This song is just right for Breaking.

  • @romienomie your dating yourself..and SO DID I...lol

  • very great song by the way thanks for the upload = ) i'm starting to listen to ol' school classic's more instead of crap pack "rap"

  • wow man i so wish i was born in the seventies too bad i was born in early 90's today the world is very messed up now nd judgin' by the way grown people like you guys talk about the ol' days makes vme wish i could go there now i'm tired of this tired messed up world i have to live in nd deal with people with ignorant idiotic minds.

  • hell yeah!!!! thanks!!

  • I grew up in the hip-hop generation (80s and 90s) but i REALLY dig music like this! Makes me wish i grew up in the 70s! I know with music like this, there were some good times that were being had then!

  • Mmmmm yeah... chillin' at William Land Park (SacTown) back in tha day. Sippin' on some OE 800 or TJ Swan, sparkin' up that good shit (you know), etc...

  • Old school, old days when life was less complicated..yeah music was music...

  • You ain't kidding. They not only don't make music like this any more, they don't even come close!

  • Afros, Platfrom shoes, Flap Jack Cap ( to the side)......when music was music!!!!

  • Damn, you musta straight peeped into my closet! LMAO!! :)

  • Another funky, smooth old school classic. Back in the day when music was beautiful and people got together and partied and had a good ol time without the ignorance and violence that goes on today, especially from these young people who don't know how to act like they have got some sense.

  • U r absolutely right! We knew how to party back then; had a good time dancin', having some drinks, rappin' to tha ladies, and ev'ryone was happy, y'know?

  • Oh yeah! Except I was rappin with the fellows because I am a female. Lol!

  • Sorry, ur username threw me off! LOL! But yeah, you ladies rapped with us fellas, fa sho! And it was ALL to tha good!! :)

  • @tommiexander , I have to agree with u. This generation don't know what good music is. God Bless you for puttin it out there.

  • @tommiexander: talk to me quick ! we had it good didn't we ?

  • @tommiexander Mr. You are so right. The 70's , started fusion music, the liberal outlook was being taken to the 3rd level and, the I just want to PARTAY day's was kickin off. Truth be told mother jumpers messed up parties back then too, but The Music of that era was the start of everything we hear now, except it's not new, now it's stolen. The Gen X from what hear isn't doing it in a studio, and they leave doing it Live alone, because they few of them can.

  • @tommiexander youve got to be kidding me about the violence part right? you older folks really fucked it up for us youngins.

  • @TheDennisQuade

Don't be blaming us for the way that you all act. We had sense and we knew how to have fun. But your generation has messed all of that up with the music, the disrespect, the violence; I could go on and on. If you all had any sense like we did, things would be the way they were in our generation. I know that there are a lot of single parents that are not raising their kids right these days, but you all have to be responsible for your own actions, no matter how you were raised.

  • @TheDennisQuade I don't mean any disrespect to you and the youngins, but we used to BBQ and listen to this stuff, coolin' and chillin'. When I think of your generation, the video for "Nuthin' But A G Thing" hits me. At the 2:00 mark where dude is grilling with a piece in his waistband as kids are playing and at the 2:26 mark where the girl has her top pulled off while playing volleyball. I love the cut and I can understand the generational thing, but we have no claim to your violence. Its yours

  • @tommiexander ey, young ppl also appreciate this, i can tell because I'm 17 and I like this

  • @tommiexander I blame it on the crack era

    80's

The whole rave scene exploded in 88 and gems such as this took a bit of a back seat

    though, NEVER to be forgotten

  • In New York City, me and my friends would substitute Central Park for Rock Creek Park! LOL! Good times!

  • thats it bro. central park is the worlds best park. new york is the city of entertainment, no other city worldwide can compete. respect to u and this classic song, its music like this that should of been no1 in the charts.
