You'll see Slim in the parting shots of my "Sneakin' Around" movie on my channel.
We spoke to Slim after his show in 2008 at the Limestone City Blues Festival, where Slim was the headliner. He told me he prefers Shure 57 microphones for playing harp; he says they're nearly indestructable!
Cyndi and Tim say damn. Can't wait to see ya again buddy. Hope you have a great holiday and will get this to them as soon as possible. damn you look good in a suit.
Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the ground. I like what the person below said about this cat channeling this stuff from somewhere else. I havent heard this kind of blues in about 30 yrs.
Nice snappy technique. Southpaw huh? Why are all these Blues dudes named after fruits and body size and sight impairments. "Fats Tomato Tom" or "Cabbage Head Harry" or "Pomegranate Pete" or "One Eye Ernie" or "Buck Toothed Tim"? But seriously, this guy's got it going on. 5 stars
This is classic Slim! I have known Slim for about 7 years. Before his WC Handy nomination and before Watermelon Slim and the Workers, it was just Watermelon Slim with his Dobro and harmonica and his road weary, soulful voice. Watch his actions and mannerisms...he ain't acting, this is how he is in life. A true bluesman to match the legends who came before him.
This is Watermelon Slim and up and coming Blues artist out of Oklahoma. To read his bio, see his tour dates and hear more of his music go to www.watermelonslim.com
This is the best verion of "Smokestack Lighnin'" since Wolf originally wrote and recorded it that I have seen. Great left handed lap steel playing on a right handed guitar. Do you listen to Black Ace, Freddy Roulette, Sonny Rhodes and Sacred Steel church music?
THATS blues!

Watermelon Slim is a member of Mensa, missing teeth & all.
If you don't know what Mensa is, you probably don't belong to it and you may possibly never belong to it...
