  • Its Dori, Marlin and Nemo!

  • Have you ever had a problem keeping more than a pair of anemone fish in the same tank? Have you had any problems with the anemone being placed next to corals? I'm thinking about getting one, but want to hear other's experiences first.

    Thanks.

  • @thefishadict It is not generally recommended to put more than one pair of clownfish in a tank. My tank is a special situation as they were all from the same clutch and they are a more passive type of clownfish. Anemones next to corals can be a problem. I would not put anything next to an anemone that I cared about or am ready to move. My anemones stay on their side of the tank because of the water current and the rock arrangement.

  • never feed silversides?

  • @iQu3sTioNzi no, I never feed silversides. Others have reported deaths after eating silversides, so I don't want to take the chance. I try to use sushi grade fish and seafood.

  • Dont treat the man tank because there are many small inverts that would be killed, get a small hospital tank(cheap tank with a few dead rocks in it and treat the fish there

  • LOL dORI and Nemo are hungry geez lol

  • Thank you so much :D I created an account on RC. I will add you soon.. you're tank is too beautiful for me to pass up an opportunity to learn :D

  • like i said in a previous comment..i absolutely love your tank :D so please help a fellow reefer out, can you please share your specs (lighting [watts per gallon], filtration, skimmer, etc...) again 5/5!!

  • Thanks for the comments btw,

go over to reef central and research my user name mobert .... I have two really big threads there and one of them describe the tank parameters and tank build.

  • im thinking about starting a tank like urs!! how hard is it to take care of them, i heard its pretty hard but im up for it??

  • A pair of the Chromis' are laying eggs so they keep the rest of them away from their egg site but other than that they do swim around together.

  • Nice tank mate well cultivated, what type of food do u feed your anemones?

  • As close to Eric Borneman's coral recipe as I can get it. google is your friend.

  • I saw the thread on Reef Central. Wow!

  • thanks! I appreciate it.

  • @lorelome same here its amazing i dont meen to be rude or anything but how much did that all cost

  • @finger11yo It can be a pretty expensive hobby and I have never tried to total up the cost. I view it as living art.

  • @Mobert thats a good way to think about it right now im pretty mad with my living art i have an ich problem and i dont know what to do my 2 clown fish and my 1 purple and my damsel has itmy cleaner shrimp is not even putting a dent in the problem i think i am going to but all my inverts in the sump and treat the main tank you think this is a good idea? will this effect my live rock if so should i save some and put it in my sump plz look at my vid to get a general idea what it look like thnks:)

  • @finger11yo Isn't your sump connected to your tank and have the same water? So, you cannot treat your main tank and not have it affect the sump. Do not use copper based treatment as it gets in the seams of the tank and your rocks and then you can never add inverts back to the tank. Look up ich and hypo-salinity or ich and garlic. Your tank is pretty new looking so the water might not be ideal. Once your tank is established your fish will be stronger and not be as susceptible to illness.

  • @Mobert thanks for the heads up i have the option disconect the sump sience my tank is not drilled but has an overflow box so i may simply turn my return off i will research that though

  • 210 gallon. It is very hard to count as they are in and behind the rocks. Thanks!
