They're first Album entitled
"The Principle of Evil Made Flesh" (which is displayed in this very video) is in essence a bona fide BM album with heavy Gothic connotations, although they would eventually become greater musicians with the releases of the Cult/Classic album's such as
"Dusk and Her Embrace" and
"Cruelty and the Beast", but then went somewhat downhill.
With the release of the Classic 2000 album "Midian" saw Cradle Changing their style musicly and moving completely away from the BM scene and more into the Gothic/symphonic scene, in the future they would still incorporate BM hooks with every now and then into their music. they're last good release (in my opinion) was the epic "Damnation and a Day" which can still be classified as a modern symphonic BM release. this album would see Cradle at their last attempt to incorporate BM.
Cradle's definitive style today is "Extreme/Gothic Metal" and they are without a doubt the best in their genre!
Nowdays they have Fuck-all to do with BM!. and thats it really! they were never a
so-called "Tr00" BM band and never set out to do so, but at one point they did however have that raw BM sound such as Burzum and Mayhem in their Demos.
Hail Burzum, Mayhem, Darkthrone, Immortal, Emperor, Old Cradle, old Dimmu, Satyricon, Marduk, Dark Funeral, Watain, Behexon, 1349!

I love the line "this is the type of music believed to be responsible for a wave of attacks on churches." And the mother interviewed pins responsibility on the music as well, not her son who actually perpetrated these acts. This is a characteristic of the christian mode of thought (the devil made me do it), and one of the types of thought black metal opposes. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY goes hand in hand with INDIVIDUALISM.

oh and cradle kicks ass! yeah they have been shitty after damnation and a day but their first 6 albums or so are fucking amazing!!! dani's lyrics can rape the shit out of any BM musicans lyrics. he is a poetic genious. but i wouldnt consider them "black metal" although "the principle of evil made flesh" is the closest album. the balck metal scence at the time was obviously a direct influnce on that first album.

this is rediculous. i hate when people automatically associate black metal with satanism. it has nothing to do with that, sure there are ties to by by indiviual musicians, but thats not BM's concept. satanism is just imagery people use when they aren't very creative (although i dont mean to offend people who mean it). Everyone believes in there one thing. Im deffinatley no satanist or pagan, but that does deminsh the value BM has for me. It is pure, raw human emotion in its most eztreme form.

i mean yeah its easily used as a medium to express that satanic shit becuase this is where it is accepted. they can do it in black metal. but i dont think that is nessacarily what deffines it. i mean look at enslaved. they have moved completley past that. and early satyricon (although there is some in there). It can be that, it sometimes is, but thats not what deffines the music. becuase thats what is about, the music. not satan. fuck that bitch.

man, black metal should not be banned, but people should be punished for there crimes. That lady has some nerv saying that it should. Hell, I'm a raised catholic, now a buddist. Does that mean we should hate every black metal musician? No! Many of these musicians are NOT satanic anyways, they just are anti-religion. Look at Immortal and Enslaved for obvious examples. Let me first say, I adore old Cradle!
and for those of you who question if Cradle are or were a BM band i'll tell you now.
They're first Album entitled
"The Principle of Evil Made Flesh" (which is displayed in this very video) is in essence a bona fide BM album with heavy Gothic connotations, although they would eventually become greater musicians with the releases of the Cult/Classic album's such as
"Dusk and Her Embrace" and
"Cruelty and the Beast", but then went somewhat downhill.

With the release of the Classic 2000 album "Midian" saw Cradle Changing their style musicly and moving completely away from the BM scene and more into the Gothic/symphonic scene, in the future they would still incorporate BM hooks with every now and then into their music. they're last good release (in my opinion) was the epic "Damnation and a Day" which can still be classified as a modern symphonic BM release. this album would see Cradle at their last attempt to incorporate BM.

Cradle's definitive style today is "Extreme/Gothic Metal" and they are without a doubt the best in their genre!
Nowdays they have Fuck-all to do with BM!. and thats it really! they were never a
so-called "Tr00" BM band and never set out to do so, but at one point they did however have that raw BM sound such as Burzum and Mayhem in their Demos.
Hail Burzum, Mayhem, Darkthrone, Immortal, Emperor, Old Cradle, old Dimmu, Satyricon, Marduk, Dark Funeral, Watain, Behexon, 1349!
