  • He slaped the poor plant.

  • He's fine. He just wants some lovin'. My lovebirds used to do the same thing when they were young.

  • No his fine i am a Breeder for lovebird his just a horny little guy, its a mate dance he is doing all my male do it when they are ready to mate or find a mate, you want to give him a stuffed toy he can play with, its normal for a bird to sleep with one foot and head tucked way, he sound like a health happy little bird

  • LOL, he's not sick, he's HORNEY!!!!!!

  • It needs to take a bath. Put a shallow bowl of water in front of it on a flat surface. Hope that helps.

  • get your bird laided xD

  • Sorry but you are just one of those dumb fucking morons who doesnt know what to do when you think your birdy is sick. GO TO A FUCKING DOC. iN STEAD OF MAKING MOVIES ABOUT YOUR BIRD YOU DUMB FUCKIN ASSHOLE

  • @Sieberliebangbang

I would agree if the bird showed true signs of sickness. And the owner of the bird/video just sees some 'strange' behaviour but the bird seems fine in any other way; the behaviour just seems strange.

But okay, a sick bird tries to hide it's sickness as long as it can but even then, this bird is so vivid..... it's not sick.

As far as I'm concerned, the question here on youtube instead of asking a doc isn't such a bad judgement IMHO

  • what kind of lovebird?

  • Affirmative! My lovebird is doing this 'dance' when he is horny! Your bird is normal x)

  • @LibertyBlackwood Yep, that's true. Seen a lot of them doing the same thing when they are horny.

  • Yeah, that's how my lovebird gets when she's horny. xD

  • He is honry, thats why :)

  • well... at least this is funny =D Have U taken he to the veterinarian?

  • nope.

    just hyper :)

  • My male lovebird did that all the time before the female got pregnant

    He's.. horny.

  • If he's a male, then he's flirting/turned on by something. Our male usually does that right before he tries to get on our female. No worries, he's probably just horny =3

  • well tht explains alot!! My lovebirds make these sounds ALL THE TIME! i though it was cute :P

  • Mating call/dance!

  • nah hes not sick hes just really horny and wants 2 do it!!!

  • I have had my little lovebird for over 5 years and she does it all the time, especially when spring comes and she hears the birds outside. It is a mating ritual. She does this and then does her thing on her perch. If she hears any kind of "clicking" noise, such as clicking your fingernails or the computer mouse clicking, she will go into her little ritual. She pumps her neck and spits seed up too.

  • He might have mites

  • birds are sopposed to sleep with one leg up and their head turned 80 degress IF you ever see that their sleeping with 2 legs apart go to your avian vet right away it could be a sign of them getting sick of course dont take my word for it you should go online and see if one leg sleeping thing is normal ^.^

  • thats a mating 'dance"

  • he wants a girl friend and bird my bird also sleeps with one foot tucked in and his head in his wings too, its like hes cuddling with himself in stead of a girl. :D dont worry with everything u have described and the way he looks, hes perfectly fine and healthy. :D

  • Wow lucky that you found him! he seems fine :)

  • I'm pretty sure your lovebird is in heat.

The fidgeting/scratching combined with the clicky noises are pretty much typical mating season sounds and signs.

  • my birds sleep in the same way, it will just take a while for him to get used to you like all birds.
