Does the dog hAve to be there for the tracking or can u just go there and ask them about if they can track it

the dog has to be near a scanner. I heard they were working on developing a chip to track the dog via satilite but it's just a rumor. =)

I had a dog and I had a chip in him , he ran away ( Ran After A car basically) , I looked for him for 2 months, unfortunatly I never found him :( I'm thinking of getting a cat....

Oh I forgot. There's this sticky pad that you can get at WalMart or Target. It just lays on your dash and things don't slide off it.
But I'd imagine in an emergency stop it can go flying.

To have a chip put in your pet yes. Averaging $25-$45.

You can 99 cent store bungee cord it to your rearview like lemonette does. Tie loose knots in the bungee to shorten the cord.
You can put wire all around your passenger visor and sitck it behind the wire.
You can get a suction mount, but that's more expensive. But I love mine.
You can use sticky tack like lisasimpson does.
Or velcro.
