@lomzkak It is better to fill out the client record card for the color after the application (procedure), since it asks for the results, and you could know it after you have worked on the client.

thanks for your time , Im going to take a 3 day class in L.A. and watching your videos it realy is A LOT a help! Thanks again, over and over being watching you..
@ruty221 The test is made of 2 parts; written and practical. I have most of the practical operations, but the written could be learned from the Milady's Standard Cosmetology Textbook. Watch the videos, but also ask the kit companies if they have quick training or tutoring available. I used to train foreign students with one of the kit companies.
My best advice is to go to beauty school, and attend at least the freshman portion of the course. But you got the test date, so good luck!
@Dushie12 In cosmetology, "blunt" could either mean (1) straight across cut with scissors, which is cutting the hair strand straight across, or, as some refer it: (2) a zero degree Bob Haircut. The first one could be done to any strand of hair regardless of its elevation; the second one has to be done on only zero degree elevation. The first one cannot be done by point cutting, razor, slide cutting, because the strand of hair is not cut straight across, but on an angle.
@Dushie12 OMG i asked the wrong question I must have been tired oopss...I meant to ask you about cross checking a blunt cut please forgive me. How do you cross check a blunt cut and do you have any videos demonstrating that. Thanks
@Dushie12 If the blunt cut is zero degree bob haircut, there is only one way to check it, and it is to check it the way you cut it, with no elevation. If the hair is cut "blunt" meaning straight across but with elevation (layers, but with the blunt movement of the scissors), you can cross check it by holding the hair opposite way that it was cut. If you first cut the hair on horizontal angle, check it holding it vertically. Layers could be blended by holding the hair on a diagonal angle.
@morgansuckerpunch98 Yes, you can dye your hair back, but make sure to use a haircolor that has gold or warm base, otherwise you might get green, if you use any color with ash base. Gold base is the safest for going from light to dark.
Mam you are a Wonderful and thorough instructor wish there were more like you !!!! This will come in handy for my stateboard although I will be applying a relaxer on an actual person :( lol but i am confident.
@Dushie12 Thank you for your kind words. They motivate me a lot!
In California we also work on a real model, but we use shaving cream instead of a real product, like relaxer. I demonstrate on a doll head, because the videotaping takes a while, and real model's don't have that much time. Also, I have to take a permission to show them online, so it is less hassle to have a doll head. What products you use in your State?
Great video, however when I learned my tint procedures and according to the "Score" purple book after rinsing your client you should place the towel on their head and the instructor may or may not come over and check that all the product has been rinsed out. The instructor will either come over or signal you to move on.
@Pixiidoll You are absolutely right. The hair has to be covered and dried with a towel. In fact, after the final rinse, the hair cannot be left dripping wet; it has to be towel dried.
State Board examination book would direct you when to call for the instructor. Usually, if it does not indicate to call the instructor during the color application, it is better not to bother the instructor, or invite unnecessary attention to yourself. Call only it the exam book asks you to signal the instructor.
i have been looking for a video like your for so long. thank you so much for doing these. i take my test in a month and im ganna be watching your videon regeously thanks so much again.
@krystallane20 You welcome! Let me know how was your test. Also, I am very interested on what theory questions are at State Board for the written exam. If you can remember any of them after the test, let me know, so I can prepare my students better for their test.
@djricomartinez Yes, this application is to cover grey hair; that's why it starts at the front of the head. This is the only application at State Board that starts at the front, but it is the most common one in the Salons, since most of the regular clients have grey hair.
When the application says "to" the porus ends it means just go up to them. You only do the ends when it says "through" the porus ends.
