Does anyone know where can i find the movie that plays in the museum little cinema!??? It was really great but i didn't had the time to watch it all, and today i got back to Greece... :( LOVED Norway btw! :)
if you look carefully at the background of the scream, the couple on the bridge are both Robson Green, and there's nothing in the way of sunshine coming my way, (problemchimp will get it)
Simply extraordinary. As an artist and perpetual student of life and art, he always surprises me. Thank you for all the interesting comments you've posted. I feel as if I had been meditating while watching this video.
I believe it is called "Despair". Munch used the motif of the blood red sky and the walkway in other paintings too, such as "Anxiety" and of course "The Scream".
My favourite is "The dance of life" (not exactly sure what it's called in English.) Truly beautifull picture everybody can rely to :) That's why his art is so popular I guess...
The Vampire is based on a red haired lady named Tula Larson whom Munch had a disastrous love affair. To win Edvard back she faked her death, and Munch was led by friends to her deathbed and wept over her body. When the gag was revealed Munch was angered and somehow got a gunshot wound....hence after he declared all women to be vampires!
As for your question I would say the painting "Attraction". The woman's hair floats over the man's neck ensnaring him.
thanks, it's really helpful to know the name! would you guys be open to me asking you a few questions to help with my essay? or just some thoughts to ponder?! i am studying the image of the artist, and wandered if you thought Munch was a man of his time using his past as a leapboard to success in the expressionism movement, or if you think he is genuine? i am studying this question within the essay. All views welcome! it's great to have your insight! :D
does anybody know what the painting at the beginning of this film is called? im studying edvard munch in art history, and need to know what the name of the painting is, where people are looking over the coffin. please help!! thankyou, connie.
I am so impressed with your Art Videos. It is unfortunate that most only know Edvard Munch for his'Primal Scream'. My ancestry is mostly Norwegian & French. Though I truly love Rachmaninov, the foremost Classical composer of Norway-Edvarg Grieg would also be appropriate. Tussen Takk, Merci.-Penny Enggrav
What a beautiful, touching slideshow. Rachmaninov's music combined with Munch's work is very powerful. Thank you for such a great overview of Munch's work.
I watched a movie a while ago on TV called Edvard Munch. It was made in 1973. It had the most moving poem at the end that I have ever heard. It was something like strings connected to my heart and when you went away they did not break. I was wondering if anyone has heard of the poem or seen the movie and knows what the hell I am talking about?
I typed "movie about edward munch" into google and found reviews of the movie you mention. None I looked at mentioned the poem however. From what I read it sounds like a good movie. I hope you can find the poem sometime.
Edvard Munch had financial problems for a long time. Then it finally took off and he became one of the richest in Oslo.

Does anybody know who that ghostly lady is that appeared in so many different paintings? 5:57 and 7:00...Maybe his "good" conscience?

one of his most important picture series is about a child, that is lying in a bed. and this child is very ill, nearly the death.
it shows the mind of him, when he has painted it.
the pictures later are more healthy.
i talk just about munch, no one other.
