  • This song makes me cry idk y though?

  • I want to wake up to this song every morning, and go to bed with it every night...

  • i love emoting with this song....

  • Stupid YouTube deletes this song. It's one of my favorites.

  • Its too bad you never hear any great songs like this being made.

  • when i was a kid, my parents bought 2 VHS video's of music with Hanna-Barbera cartoon clips, several songs were popular like the beach boys surfin on top of the world, the song Teddy Bear, and carious others. i was wondering if anyone else remembered them as well because i can't find those tapes anymore and was wondering if anyone else knew about them. the reason i asked is that the last song on another video i swear used the exact same animation as the one listed here.

  • the sounds of this song still reverberate across the decades and suddenly i am a child again and life is beautiful

  • When you die and you meet god as a child and not an adult........thats what this video makes me think of. Also teenage love.

  • Fantastic song, one of my favorites

  • I like it... the video best discribes the song very well.

  • This animation looks VERY similar to the Yellow Submarine movie. I think it's a German artist. Great song awesome video! thanks for the upload my friend.

  • Just when I think I'm over her

    This broken heart will mend

I hear her name and I have to cry

    The tears come down again

  • Makes me think of midnight blue skies pierced with bright stars and the scent of night-time pine woods from my childhood . . .

  • Is it me, or does this look reminiscent of "Yellow Submarine?"

  • @DreamDancer82 I just made a similar comment. Sorry, I didn't see yours first. Good eye, you're definitely seeing what I'm seeing.

  • This song really touches my heart. Brings back fond memires.

  • beautiful song had not heard it in a very long time missed it

  • these guys were my very first concert when i was 11 or 12.

  • You know who.. I am thinking about you.

  • beats me, but the animation in that looks like, and reminds me of "The Beatles: Yellow Submarine" Movie with that same animation.

  • ...always loved this group...

  • This song does a great job at expressing the enigma that love so often presents.

We want to release the "faded memory" of unrequited love yet we still hang onto the days of enchantment. I often reflect upon the few women that I once felt romantic love for even though it's history.

  • I LOVE IT! Such a great song, brings back some serious memories of a lost love!

  • tonight im gonna break away

    just you wait and see

    I'll never be imprisoned by

    a faded memory

this song gives me such a unique unexplainable longing

  • @maha77 me too.

  • @maha77 Perfect way to describe the longing of this song ..I have always loved it so much..Some songs are just rich magic for no reason.

  • i always love this song..always makes me feel so young..

  • "It happens all the time ... "

The emotion of love (and love lost) is so powerful. Too bad we fail to replace greed w/ love into governments.

  • this song takes me back to better days! everything about it is so smooth!

  • this song and Call It love both are qool

  • So...Janos Vitez (aka Johnny Corncob in USA), released 1973; PannoniaFilmStudio (Hungary); Marcell Jankovics as director, screenplay, and one of the half-dozen animators. No dign of Peter Maxx, but the film (in 6 parts on YouTube, and no, you don't need the language to "get it") shows the influence of many comtemporaries: Maxx, Disney, others...VERY COOL. Too bad we (in N.A.) so often...never get to see so much of so many Others' COOL STUFF... pity.

  • Oka-a-ay....The guy who did the animation for the Beatles' Yellow Submarine film was...Peter Maxx. That's all I ever heard of, about him. But...the guy was a genius, and THIS stuff looks JUST LIKE him. He may have had a subsequent creative career...IN EUROPE, and been brought in on a Hung. /Hanna-Barbera film project. Why not?! Dig around...follow your nose, and solve this mystery once and for all!!

  • @BayByPackrat my first thought was yellow sub, as well. in fact, the beatles almost gave the red light on that film cos they were afraid it was gonna come out "too saturday morning cartoon-ish." or so i've heard.

  • * winks * * grins widely * oh ya! this crazy love of mine. :)

  • dude. it looks jus' like the beatles yellow submarine movie. wow. so much makes sense now! yknow stories and such. haha. crazy...

  • yeah. poco is pretty rockin. itskind to know so that so many ppl are touched by it. i remember this song and album cover from y childhood, when i was a mere toddler. crazy, huh? lol, that pun was not intention yet funny nonetheless.

  • what a beautiful song!! i just love it!! =)

n da video just a perfect combination!

  • omg, lol its nice, but too much shit goin on in this world to stop and hear the whole thing

  • this animation was taken from Janos Vitez, a great Hungarian story. A youtube search will give you movie.

  • How come no one writes songs like this anymore?

  • Thank you for the perfect dedication! I love you more than the stars in the summer sky...you are my 'one'

  • Hi Linda my crazy love baby - see you soon I love you with all my heart!!!!!

  • The harmonies are so beautiful.

  • I happen to have a DVD transfer of this from the original VHS.........used to have it when I was little. LOVED IT!!!!!

  • It looks like European animation, possibly Scandinavian, I wonder what it really is?!

  • the first song I ever played guitar along with in Travis picking style! My father was so proud of me!! I was 15.

  • this is such a wonderful song....I love it so much. Everything about it is perfect.

  • Weird video, but this is, by far, Poco's best song ever!

  • I love LIZ!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much! This was my favorite video when I was little.

  • This vid is sooo cool!! I love the music too. It fits in some parts of the animation, but not all.

Awesome vid + song all in all :D

  • i have the complete VHS of this intact

  • what was the title of the VHS i cant remeber it but i use to watch it all the time as a kid, id love to get my hand on a copy...

  • "Country Rock" i think is the name

  • Looks like it's the same animation house or director responsible for the Beatles' "Yellow Submarine" film animation. Not sure their name, but if you could find that out, I'm sure it'd be a start to figuring out what this is from...

LOVE the song - I first heard some minimally released cover version of it in the mid-90s on a country station in Dallas and on CMT (same way I found out about "Wichita Lineman"), and it occupies a little corner of happiness in my heart.

  • my all time fav love song, hands down!!!

  • i never needed a heartache to remind me that I have a heart...

  • i think....im....gonna cry!!!

    =[

  • I own the video that contains all the animations, the one in question. I cant for the love of me find it, so sorry I cant remember the name of the actual tape, but I will say thanks for uploading, ive been looking for this animation for at least 10 years. The vid I own has a different song for the vid however. Thanks man.

  • EVERY LOVE IS CRAZY....

  • Well put . Reminds me of high school when we all thought we found that special girl only to get dumped later !

  • The gentleman who is with me this evening states that these are Hungarian animated folk stories.

  • this is one of my favorite songs...

    very sentimental..miss you andrea huang

  • Oh from the sunnly slopes of long ago-still, the memories are profound...

  • Haven't we all had that "crazy love"? This song brings back bittersweet memories every time. Thanks for posting!

  • oh GOD this takes me back... great great song

  • Timeless Classic, before Hip Hop ruined radio.

  • I've always loved this song. It's played frequently on the Muzak where I work. It reminds me of when I was just about to graduate from high school. I will be debuting it at karaoke tomorrow night!

  • Thank you so much... i love it!

  • awesome song

  • The animation in this video is from a Hungarian feature made in 1974, "Janos Vitez" (John the Hero).

  • Thank you for taking the time to tell me. I did learn about it back at the beginning, but those posts have scrolled pretty far back now, so it's good to have it up front again! :)

  • Hanna-Barbera made a Hungarian movie in 1974? Some years back the animation studio used the same animation style for a Fanta TV commercial!

  • I'll never be imprisoned by a faded memory.

  • Love this song.... everybody who has experianced the highs and lows of love can appreciate this song!!! xxxxx

  • Great STory !

  • I have the HBTV Country rock dubbed on DVD

  • While eating at a McDonalds, thinking of someone that I need to get over while she knows that I want to be with her. This song came oame on the radio. Wow..talk about getting a sign!

    It's a beautiful song.

If you get a chance.."Call it Love" by Poco is also an awesome song.

  • Love this song! One of my favorites! Brings back wonderful memories...

  • Thank you for the memories. Haven't heard this song in years. An old favorite.

  • yeah, this song can bring tears to anyone, including me...no matter what age you are! the lyrics are sad...a haunting ballad. i discovered the song channel surfing on the radio on day and it just captured me^^

  • Beautiful song...captivating video. Thanks neonnurse. favorite.

  • Greatfull

  • WOW!!!! Beautiful animation to go with this song!

  • I want to second Troubador's comments. Poco was one of the greatest groups to emerge from the late 60s and into the 70s, musically speaking. They never really found their breakout hit or "voice" in the manner of many groups with less talent. It's a shame, because there's so much GREAT music on their albums. This is one of their finest. Rusty Young can hold his own with the best songwriters/storytellers. See them if and when you can!

  • Well, the group Poco has been around for a while. Off and on since 1968. Their music has many facets. They have gone though personel chagnes, but two original members Rusty Young and Paul Cotton along with recent members Jack Sundrud and George Lawrence, still tour all over the US and sometimes Europe. "Crazy Love" was their biggest radio hit and came out the late 70's.

If they are ever near you, go see 'em

    Troubadour out.

  • In 1978, the last year of the H-B Rainbow.

  • LISTEN !!! this animation fits the song perfect. It brings out emotions in me I thought I have kept away for a long while. Excellent !!!

  • How about some comments on the song? I think it's one of the best sad love songs ever.....brings tears to my eyes almost every time.

  • I agree. I think it was because I was mesmerized by how well the animation told a story that went with the song that I went to so much trouble to try to find out where it came from. It IS a beautiful song!

  • A story for the heart. It really shows the power of love. Wonder if he ever broke away? Really good stuff. Saw them on tour in 1971. Damn, that was a while back and they can still hold their own. Was Richie Furay the writer? Looked thru the old vinyl and could ony find Pickin' up the Pieces'(1969) Peace.

  • peter max man!!

  • Hanna Barbera contracted another company? I don't know what kind of animation is this, but I added this video to the Hanna Barbera group page!

  • I think that's a good idea. We don't know the details of how HB was connected with the Hungarian company, but the work DID come out on a HB video, so it's fair to make the connection.

  • OK, if anyone really must know, it's "Johnny Corncob", Hungary's first animated feature, though I don't know why it's used for this video at all since H-B had no part in it. I guess they just needed something to go with the song anyway and had some stock footage lying around.

  • Thank you so much for IDing this! Once I had the title, I did some Googling, and the connection seems to be explained on a Seals and Croft page. (use Johnny Corncob, Seals and Croft as search terms to find the page. You Tube won't let me post the link.)

  • Well, in having known of this, I had already saw clips of this film prior to having to search for it, so the Seals & Croft connection is new to me.

  • I am guessing either they got an option on the US release of Johnny Corncob that they never followed up on, or someone working on the Country Rock videos just found the film sitting around and assumed they could use it.

  • I already know what this is, but I already mentioned it elsewhere.
