I once watched a humming bird take a bath in perhaps a centimetre of water on a surface just outside my window. The bath lasted a couple minutes and was one of the sensuous experiences I have ever witnessed. The bird rolled in the water, extending its feathers and allowing water to reach its skin.I think of them now as water birds. I have seen one come to hover in the fine spray of a garden hose too. Humminbirds and their relationship with water would make wonderful video.
