  • A new computer might help a bit, depending of what computer you had before. Usually when you buy a ready-to-go computer, the guys in the store put in a bad distributor and a "okay" graphics card and a good processor and then they call it a gaming computer. The power that the distributor supplies is just enough power for the comp. to run well. With this meaning, it's better to get a new good distributor (You can get a 500w for aroung 40$) and a good graphics card. :)

  • @Wyrmsprite i will but no 1 helps

  • im having a problem with my planes when i choose a plane the wings, cabin, tail and things like that are mixed together can someone help me?

  • This is what happes to me. It says the graphics are on high, but it looks like shit, and is seriously laggy

  • i got the same problem but only sometimes i cant blame fsx my computer sucks

  • wierd i got the program and i never seen the scenery problem yet

  • well guess what i have vista and it is still like that. YOU LIE

  • vista sucks and so does dell YUK !! lol ill keep to my home built pc :)

  • You need to turn your settings up.

  • OK I figured out what you have to do you go to settings on the home page ang it will give you a graphicks selection from poor to best then you put it on your choice. it worked for me

  • my fsx wont even work at all!!!

  • can somebody help me? when i download planes on fsx it appears on the list and the picture appears but it isnt the airplane i downloaded at all, its like it got switched with another default picture......I NEED HELP PLEASE!!!!!

  • i neeed help when i put the graphics high it will run slow i use window xp please reply

  • cus ur computer isnt that powerful. u need a better ram and processor.

i suggest getting 3gb ram and quad core processor but u might aswell get a new computer.

  • What!!! are you using a car in FSX HOW?

  • Terrian Was too low

  • HERE IS THE SOLUTION: A few weeks ago my scenery AND my graphics, just like you, were a flat, NO 3-D, messed up thing and I discovered that if you uninstall fsx Acceleration it will WORK! Just don`t use acceleration or try reinstalling it if you have only Deluxe!

  • What do I do?

  • I have the same problem, when I set the graphics to high it starts to lagg and then there are green, brown stripes allover my screen then this happens that the resolution seems to be immediately set to low!

  • I have a HP dv6-1245dx The specs are 4GB Ram INTEL CORE 2 DUO 2.1 GHZ Windows Vista Home Premium Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD 1759MD Shared Video Memory 320GB Hard Drive DVD-RW Multi. So my computer can play FSX But it only plays up to LOW graphics if I do higher the game starts to lag. Any help?

  • It will be your on-board gfx card that'll be causing the problems.

  • i had the same pc as you but i just changed the prosessor and it runs fine on high my processor is 3.2 ghz

  • well u hav a good computer but fsx sucks at framerates . i use fs2004 and its awesome when u add addons. plus better and more addons for fs2004 and it doesent suck up ur frames.

  • please never ever ever ever suggest a dell with vista....thats just asking for a computer that will last a couple months and fail lol obviously there is not too much knowledge about dell here....

  • I get this too but only when i am multitasking like right now i have fsx minimized and i know when i open it the graphics will look like this but after 2 mins or so it goes back to normal.

  • i have windows XP version 5.1.2600

    1248 off ram directx 9 1.80GHz

DDI version 8 28GB free space

My adapter is Sis650 it has been updated and i cleaned my hard drive but i still get the same image as in video

  • I'm running Vista x64

    4GB of RAM

    NVIDIA 8800GTX 768MB XXX Edition

    AMD Athlon X2 6000+

the game runs fine even on highest settings. On XP i can only run it on medium as no DX10

  • It's actually worse if u get Vista. There is a decrease in framerate on Vista. You just have to get XP 64 Bit, nVidia 9600GT an a motherboard ment for gaming by MSI

  • i have a super major problem. everytime i load and play my plane. the screen always zooms into the plane. really zooms into the plane. and ive tried re installing it and reseting all my settings.

    please help.

  • I thought that only happened to small planes? have you tried zooming out using the + and - keys?

  • I have dual core, but i cant run high graphics, is it just because my graphics card is crap?

  • Don't throw your money away on a Dell or HP and build your own... FSX bottlenecks heavily on CPU performance and cores. The graphics card only handles most eye candy dealing with all terrain and scenery, such as Anti aliasing and type filtering. Texture resolution and a higher fill rate on th GPU improve performance majorly in a few ways. Your CPU is always the largest factor in a system running FS poorly. I run it on a Q6600 @ 3.0GHz and a 9800 GTX and get a fine 25-50fps on ~max settings.

  • it's better if u build ur own.

The best Vid card 4 FSX is nVidia 9600GT. My friend has one and he put everythign to max. antialising, antisphoric, 100% traffic, full scenery, autogen density extreme dense and it doesn't lag. and he is using xp. if u were to use Vista the Flight Sim would crash

  • I have a ATI Radeon 256mb AGP card. Is the one you mentioned AGP or PCI Express. Also i was considering if i should upgrade to vista as i hear there are less graphics issues

  • I have a 2.4GHz quadcore, a 9800GTX and 8GB ram. Even with a few settings to middle, I get a jumpung framerate of 6-25fps when on final or just at low flying altutude...

  • Note the speed I run mine compared to yours. I'll note I have only 2GB of D.Channel 667 RAM. I have it running at ~750 on OC with a 3.12GHz CPU with a resolution of only 1280x1024. By all means, if you want higher resolutions, you will obviously need more rendering power; but for running max settings generally, it doen't need the world's best computer... My GTX is a GTX+ model but fits the bill without modification.

  • LOL unlucky i get a minimum of 30fps on landing even though i have got a Pentium 4 3.2GHz with 1.5GB of DDR2 RAM with a ATI Radeon AGP Graphics card 256mb of dedicated video ram. Only thing is it only has 2 slots on the mobo and 1 is my graphics and the other is a usb card but i am happy with its performance

  • turn on aa and make the graphics higher

  • why my screen flash in white help me plz

  • actally xp is faster then vista

  • agreed

  • I agree

  • @tiflotin8942 and 7 is vista speed times XP speed lol

  • Just because you have XP doesn't mean your going to have worse performance.. Vista will actually have a worse hit because of all the visual crap. FSX is more processor intensive then anything. You NEED AT LEAST a Core 2 Duo. FSX utilizes 2 cores, thats why you need at least 2 cores. Yeah a nice video card will help, but thats not it. Trust me on this, I build computers and play FS. Iuse FS9 tho because FSX is more of a game than a sim, I have both tho, and I can get 40FPS on X with my N8600GTS

  • i have vista and my scenery isgreat

  • yeah, my computer:

    Pentium D (2.8ghz)

    2GB DDR2 RAM (800mhz)

    8800GT 512mb (graphics)

and my FSX runs at around 8 FPS at medium low and low graphics.... is it me or is that not right? if n e one can help me fix it i will be most grateful as i have been on countless forums and still no replys.

  • your processor is the bottleneck

  • replace the pentuim d with a proper dual core like a core 2 duo and get 4GB to also make it run faster your graphics card is fine.

  • you probably don't or didn't have enough ram

  • Hey Guys.....good news....I just got a dell with vista and now the game runs fast and smooth :)

  • its your memory so the fsx take a lot memory of your computer and if there is not much the fsx become very UGLY Or low graphics...

  • i have same prob when i turn the mesh to highest and stuff my screen turns half black and my game freezes some1 plz help me!

  • oh yeah and if you are going to fast or something, let it load... and sometimes in multiplayer it will load 2 times and nothing will be loaded, so sit there and let it load the mesh and textures

  • and if that dont work REINSTALL

  • LOL!!! put your graphics settings up like autogen and mesh complexity and texture resolution and make sure Land Detail Texture box is checked duh

  • you gotta put ur scenery on ultra high, mesh complexity up high, antiailsling, unlimited frams, and something else....my comp specs:

processer: Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme, 5.2GHZ 780i motherboard 3 8800GTX 768mb superclocked, but damn, ur sucks, MINE RULES!!!! LOL!!!

  • LOl its just your graphics card or not enough ram or low ghz.

  • dont but it on ultra high unless u got very fast computer cause it takes time to load, thats y u see 1 house in the scenery at first and then houses start poppng up, put the graphics matching the speed of ur pc

  • u need good graphics card ? get it for geforce nvidia 8500gt or 8800 gts sli ,

    1or 2 GB ram ... Okay?

  • A limitation of Flight Simulator is that you can't go over a certain speed which is determined by the CPU speed, If you go over that speed the scenery will start "blurring".

Your CPU probably isn't fast enough to draw at that speed.

  • you got the graphics on ultra high??

  • yes

  • I have fsx and it was working great but now it wont show me the in flight menu and the right click wont do anything. I tried repairing it with the fsx cd but it still doesnt work. Can anybody help me?

  • I have a similar issue. I just installed it to my new Vista and for some reson when you put it on a Vista the shortcut is missing and the 2-D cockpit is too. Does any 1 know how to fix that?

  • How do you get inside cars???!!!

  • DUDE! you are a bad pilot you have overspeed on every picture lol=)

  • mm check ur vid settings? hahaah if you did. either get better processor, or more ram so that the game can process all the textures faster.

  • hey u need a fast prossesor, u may have the best graphics card but if u have a slow prosesor it will suck... believe me get a fast prossesor, u may need a dual core(quad better:)

  • i have a brand new hp computer. it has vista and i have the same problems! the water is crap, the ground looks like a sattelite picture from the 1950s... very blurry.

  • this makes it hard to up grade if your frame rate is slow you need to upgrade your ram and your cpu the cpu isnt 775 slot so you cant exacly get quad core runing or even dual core this means you only have i chanal for nthe information to come in and out there are 4 parts that make up the cpu and with a dell

  • dude if i had grafics like that i would rip the computer out of the wall and put it in the bin your first problem is you have a dell, dells use diffrent tipes of hard ware to over computer 4 example the ram is what i call dell ram or crap it rums around 556mhs or 800mhs if its any good and itss not ddr2 or ddr3 so thats your next problem with the ram

  • will it work on the new dell xps one at a good frame rate & graphics?....plz answer!

  • im not 100% shure cuz i have a dell inspron 530 but i heard the game works best on xps.

  • What was wrong with oo:55?

  • the problem is it looks terrible...

  • i had the same problem as you before i used these settings .. try it it may help

  • fsx is actualy better i got a dell 3100 series with a default and crap 32mb intel graphics processor but i have good graphics because i found a way to get around it.... you just have to set your scenery settings to something your pc can handle like i got mine at medium low n its brilliant but also to have a good affec to on the flight sim you need to drag your autogen scenery to full and senery objects

  • I just got a Dell with Windows Vista home premium with an ATI HD PRO graphics card and it runs much faster and the graphics are better but the graphics could be better. Any way to inprove them?

  • NOPE... FSX Is a crappy sim period...

  • im gonna have to disagree with tht statement. FSX is a great sim, as well with all the FS series. Sure it may not be a REAL plane but hell, it beats wondering about what inside of planes look like as well as how they handle.

  • go to settings and click custimize and make ur setting better but when i do that my plane moves slower but mabey because my computer is really old period.

  • my FSX says this "Out of Signal range" or something like that and it tells me i need to change my resolution and it doesnt show me playing but i can hear the sounds can anyone help?

  • Put 1024x768 Pixelsin your FSX

  • as I see...the problem is not the game..maybe your graphics card can't load the terrain to fast because it's too slow for this game..or perhaps you got your settings low...

  • Ive got the settings maxed out.But I will be getting a dell custome made with an ATI Pro graphics card with windows vista primium and now I got a crappy old HP with an N-Vidia so I hope the new computer will help.

  • From what I know, the problem is quite simple.

All you need to do is turn up the terrain resolution under Settings, Details, Scenery Tab. and move the Terrain Resolution Slider up.

  • I have the same problem too. Really ruins flights sometimes. You would have thought that the game would 'remember' the ground textures after a 2 second pause to change views. Or when you click tower view by accident and it messes the game up entirely :| So retarded sorry:) Guess it just means having to grin and bear it as I would think.

  • mine dose that 2!!!!! i hate my computer\!!

  • it's not your computer, it's the sim... FSX was built very badly...

  • I have a Dual Core Athlon 4200+ with 2 gb of ram and 2 Nvidia 7600GT video cards. FSX was running fine last month and now, it runs like yours. I tried reinstalling and nothing works. By the way, I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bits

  • This problem happens when the system is behind in the rendering. Some folks mistakenly set their target frame rate at well above whats needed (The eye works at 30 fps) and this can result in the system needing to not finish rendering a frame before it has to calculate other things. CPU is the KEY, and a good graphics card!

  • yes you need a good VC for this game, but you need a GOOD CPU more than anything

  • What is the best CPU for this game?

  • mongol

  • so how do i fix it espilaly my cockpit looks like crap

  • wtf am i looking at

  • Hi, i sometimes have that problem, my quick fix is to hit the "esc" key then hit continue flying, it loads up as normal again. I guess it gives it time to catch up with the rendering!?

  • it dosent matter if you com is brand new ... LOL you need to make your own pc prety much to run this game because not many computers from placed like pc world or retailers make pc's that can run this game .. you need dual 8800's in sli you need 2 - 4 gb ddr2 ram quad core prosessor 10000 rpm hdd's ... yeah this game is GRAHPICS AND HARDWARE HUNGRY !! no joke .. throw an amazing pc at it the game will chew it up and ask for much much more

  • When you change cameras, it has to re-render the entire world sometimes.

Although with mine, it only takes about thirty seconds to get clear again.

  • isn't that suppose to b part of the graphic setting?? i hav a crappy vid card but i wont hav those problem....well it used to b lik that..

  • it may not be your computer it could be the sim loading mine does that but after 5 min it look awsome

  • i'm having the same problem... i don't know what to do...

  • lol

--> set the terrain resolution higher

    whats your graphics card?

try to fly under 1000 Kts!

  • I did that but it doesn't work, my computer graphic card is really good. Also my computer was made for games.

  • whats your graphics card?

  • Well I have 2 laptops one is (ASUS EAX1900XTX/2DHTV/512M) and the other one is (GeForce 7800 GTX) but still it doesn't work good.

I call sony, because my computers are sony, and the told me to send both of them back, because they need to check them. Also they told me that those graphic cards are very powerful and they should work perfectly.

  • I just got my laptop fixed and when i install FSX i get thie message-Error 1305.Error reading from file C:/ Program Files/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Scenery/World/Texture/066F2SPD.BMP Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

  • I have those too! And my comp. is brand new
