Let's review. Suddenly, when their political careers are in jeopardy, pubs no longer care about the "security" of America & "protecting us from terrorists"? How do they have the nerve to tell us we might have to be in Iraq for years, even DECADES (Newt Gingrich said 70 years), and that if we didn't fight them there, they would "follow us here"...and then turn around and say oh, wow, this is hurting the GOP's chances of getting elected, so we are no longer for it...

Bush&Co are oil men. They don't give a fuck about the American soldiers or a possible Iraqi civil war. They wont pull out until the Iraqi legislature passes BushCo's Oil legislation which hands over ALL 200 BILLION barrels of Oil to mostly American Big Oil companies. THAT is the reason Dick is over there right now trying to force the Iraqi legislature not to go on vacation. In the words of Dick Cheney himself, the Middle East and all of its oil "is sill where the prize lies"

this war is an utter scandal. the way i see it, there are times when specific wars are good for national security. but this war, FROM THE START, did strategic harm to the US.
