No real difference in sound, but with the exhausts trimmed you can more readily see blue flame bursts

how does it get oil ??? is there oil in the crankcase like an normal 4stroke??

You just oil with a drop of Mobil 1 synthetic periodically on the moving parts and one oil well on the cylinder. Too much oil and it blows brown droplets from the exhausts...less is more!

-I think it is becouse it has the crosshead design....

Definitely a 2 stroke engine...Maier makes another, larger more expensive 4 stroke version but this isn't it.

I traded my Jensen 25 cast iron based engine converted from electric to alcohol with addition of condensate routed to the chimney...that plus a stepper motor generator.  Both of us a happy campers!
