Just based on this clip....ummmm....no....british was waaaaaay better...this seems to be poorly casted, poorly acted, poorly produced (i.e. the sound on that song)....yeahhhhh it would have been nice if it worked but ill stick with blackpool <3

HOnestly guys, I think it comes down to a difference of culture. Producers seem to think that anything successful in the UK will be successful here. They forget our cultures are actually quite different. Blackpool was very British and, unfortunately, the concept just didn't translate. Plus, it was poorly done!

And this is a key example of why Americans should never remake British shows. Hell yes we do it to you, but then when we do the shows tend to go down quite well over here (in fact don't we just remake game shows anyway?). This is all wrong! He just looks like he's singing along to the sound system not singing the song (albeit beneath a soundtrack) like they do in Blackpool!

I've been watching Blackpool and just found out this project existed. I gotta say... wow. This is why BBC shows fail over here; It's not the material, it's the execution. Terrible writing and acting just can't catch the original lightning of Blackpool. (Let's not talk about the terrible Life on Mars pilot)

The UK series blackpool did it so much better. The songs were seemlessly blended into the storylines and there was so much heart to it. I just think this US version lacks integration and heart. There is bad acting mixed with poorly choreographed singing and it just looks all bland and messy. Have a look at blackpool from the UK with David Tennant and you will know what I mean.

I dunno... im really looking forward to it, don't get me wrong... but singing OVER the original track is not sounding too good IMO. If it was just their voice, it would be better, orif they had the music louder than their singing. It just seems a little akward. I hope it does ok...
