Socialism (Social Democracy) and Communism are radically different. Communism is total state control of the economy, where goods are produced by the government. That is, no private sector. Also, under Communism only one party and one ideology were allowed to exist. That was the Soviet Union.

Marx first vision may have been such, but upon realization that humans were in fact humans, he realized it would not work. Socialism and Communism refer to the collective ownership of public businesses, and each employee of those businesses gets a share of the profits. Being that both of the candidates help to jumpstart public businesses, it is quite far away from communism.

If you invent tomorrow a simple invention that everyone want to buy from you, you could become very very rich with doing minimal work.
