I suppose all of these dislikes came from people in Europe who lay their catches down on a mat and hold the damn thing like a newborn. Carp are not native in the US. They harm the ecosystem, ESPECIALLY grass carp. As a general rule of thumb, if you catch a carp in public waters, you kill it. Whether you cut it into catfish bait or bury it in the garden, you don't let them back.

No, it was probably 10, in captivity carp can live up to 40 years, in wild 25 MAX, and don't complain about a fishing trip , if they keep the fish it will be gutted alive, so spearing isn't that bad, and fish have a rapid recovery rate, thats why you'll see fish with one fin some times, and they'll be fine, or half their tail fin missing, unless an organ is hit they'll live

I know that you probably don't want to tell me the exact location that you are harvesting these monsters but are you willing to tell me name of the body of water you are fishing in or the general area geographically? State? I bowfish lakes and rivers around Texas and have never come across a grass carp over 50 pounds. Congrats!
