The Gatchaman costumes it's a super design high-power style!! It's an old japan school for ninja-style costumes. Americans basics takes from japanese draws the ideas for batman and other super-heroes costumes..

The shininess needs toned down but it looks decent overall. It'll take an actual viewing when it's released to have a fair opinion of it though

Ugh, I thought this whole time it was live action. I think it would be awesome if it was LA. This looks like the Astro Boy CG movie.

what kills a good story / movie idea when it goes from cartoon to live action is the fact that you can't do in real life or on a set what you can easily do on paper (or in a computer) and if they do make the people do what they can't do in real lif on the screen then the audience feels they are being made fun of. also it takes a good writer / director/ cast/ plot/ and story line to make the movie good that is a lot to ask in one shot for any movie

often these things are a steak of good luck and hardly ever happens easily just as it is..

that is why if you ever notice a lot of sequeals never seem to do as well as the first.

that is because they are trying to make it really good but their luck has run out..

the magic just isnt there between actors directors and writers. it is usually a freak thing for it to come out a block buster.

I hate that glossy look they put over their cgi. It's almost glaring.... Like their is a constant light in the screen.

This is sad... I'd much rather see a live-action Gatchaman or just a badass animated (as in anime) remake. What's even more sad is that if this ever comes out and sucks, we'll be stuck with it. Nobody will want to redo Gatchaman and make it badass.

I highly disagree. Astro Boy looks like it's gonna be a good movie because it has the spirit that the original anime Osamu Tezuka created. Unlike what happened with that godawful excuse of a Dragonball adaptation.

It's already out in Australia, I've seen it. It was pretty average.

As a kids movie it was ok but not many bits really got laughed at. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially with things like UP out atm.

In the original Japanese series Joe's parents where part of Galactor, since this is supposed to be the origin/1st mission for the team maybe they don't completely trust him...aside from that he is always ready to fight(anyone)!

the thing is G-Force is the name of the English adaptation in the 80's, so Gatchaman is the original name, though the series were almost the same with the violence and stuff, which i hope they keep intact in this one

Oh yeah i knew all that, but I think think that more people in america would recognize it from the anime if it had the "G-Force" title than seeing the trailer, being like "That looks so familiar", researching the name Gatchaman on the internet, and then finding out that its G-Force.. @RadioCambodia That's not really true; they really toned down the violence in G-Force/Battle of the Planets. Irrelevant characters who died in Gatchaman as collateral damage of the war often didn't die in G-Force, they were just unconscious, and you later see them alive (such as the astronauts in the very first episode). G-Force also made the violence less gritty by making Galactor a bunch of aliens, so it was less about humans killing humans, which Gatchaman never really did.

Short answer: Before Power Rangers, Before Ninja turtles, Before Vultron, There was Gatchaman. It is the original team of teenagers saving the world show. It was instantly influential in creating the blue print of every show that came after.

ken the eagle, joe the condor, ryu the owl, jinpei the swallow, and jun the swan. they're pretty much a cooler version of power rangers with capes. they're the original! funny, i shouldnt even know this. this came out like...20 years before i was even born.

anyway...i vaguely remember the american version, g-force as i remember. aired in the 90's or something. when i was 5-ish?

Actually, I remember this show, my favorite, when I was in 1st grade. I am now 40. G-Force / Battle of The Planets is at least that old. And It was a cut-up of Gatchaman which then I assume was even earlier. In BOTP, I remember Casey Kasem voicing much of the show.
