This isn't a TNA thing, Kurt is being stripped of the Godfather rank because he's going to be filming a new movie very soon. They are giving it temporarily to Sting while Kurt takes care of business. TNA as part of signing Kurt Angle back in 2006 promised him movie roles in the future.

Also, Kurt is happy with TNA, no WWE future plans because the scheduling for WWE events take a toll on his body.
