Can sumbody please tell me whats SO WRONG about WinMo? I'm planning on getting an HD2 even tho its outdated nd only because its an awesome phone regardless. The hacking possibilities are endless on that shit!!!
@TheAceKannon True. I highly recomend it, because if you don't like WinMo you can install Android. They are making better and better builds of android with hours! Soon we'll have a perfect android for the HD2!
the htc hd2 used to be my dream phone.....I still think it is because it can run android as well as windows mobile , if wp7 gets ported to it , then it just might be the best phone ever!!

To be completely exact, the HD2 has got 576 MBs of RAM, but somehow it's hidden. You have to use an appropirate radio version to unlock the remaining MBs. A lot of new radio versions can be found in XDA-Developers, make sure to check them out! In almsot all of the new radios, this hidden RAM is originally activated. Just choose the radio which is compatible with your ROM, download and then install it.
Cool video, but the RAM size of the HD2 is 576 MB in fact, however it need to be unlocked. You can find a lot of cooked ROMs, in which the 576 MB RAM is originally unlocked and activated. For example I'm using Dutty Leo Holy Grail WWE v4.3, and I've got 576 megabytes of RAM (I checked it out in the Hardware Informations of course).
Bullshit, 200 extra hours? Maybe when you first buy it, but once you drain that battery after a couple months, it won't last that long. Or maybe it will and i'm just completely naive. It can't be worse then my unlocked Hero or 3gs, which suck in battery life!
i think htc hd2 is better i mean u have a nice large display which is 4.3 then u have 16 gigs that come with the phone free which they cost around $80-$100 then u get 3g and wifi but windows 6.5 do need a little update because there are a few bugs but nothing to make u want to throw your phone lol but if u dnt like the hd2 dont buy it damn
I'm still going to buy the HD2 even tho it has WM6.5, I will probably update to a ROM with 6.5.X and get SPB Mobile Shell onto it. You can do so much even tho it's "outdated" (I don't think so actually), you just gotta have alot of experience and stuff with the phones :)

what does outdated mean? you mean simply that they haven't released a significant update for a while? that doesn't mean what you think. fast iteration between releases often means nothing more than bug fixes. win mob is quite skinnable, here with htc sense (same as some other non win mob phones) so you really don't ever see this "outdated" os, you just see something very similar to all the other sense phones. and yeah, being able to watch divx/xvid on that big screen is very nice.

@Niterunner144 well, i guess that's true if you compare them without turning the phones on. you can't really say which is better. if your about your business and use your phone primarily for work, get hd2. however for a "kid" like me who wants to have fun with my phone, i'll get nexus one.
@Niterunner144 but the nexus has great hardware (most of the same from the hd2 but not the screen) and its upgradable, the HD2 is not upgradable so you will be stuck with the same OS for the next 2 years
the htc is the most awesome phone that i have ever owned. download skyfire as your web browser. the flash player has made all of my tech dreams come true. ifs midnigjt and my phone had been off the charger since 9:00 this morning, so it durvived a whole day of work and then some. some of you guys need to learn how to properly break in and condition your batteries i.e. make sure you charge your bat 100 b4 your 1st use out the box hint.
That crap about the stand by time on the HD2 is BS!!!!! I can barley get half a day of use out my HD2 without the battery dying... I have to bring my charger with me everywhere and I've only had the phone for 2 weeks... it' going on craigslist for another phone cause I can't deal with it.... And windows mobile is JUNK!!!! I lock up and have to pull he battery serveral times a day and when I get a text message the phone slows down and gets really lagy to the point that I can't do anything

Standby or not I get 1 half of a day using this phone from the time I take it out of my charger when I leave the house for work in the morning I consider that use because even while in stand by mode it is still able to emails, receive text messages and even able to receive phone calls believe it or not Bobby! even when it is doing nothing it is still doing something! Maybe I have a defective unit but I get less than 8 hours per charge even in do nothing standby mode!

Just so you know the battery cover comes off easily by using your nail on the small slot on the left side of the battery cover and it slides back in easily from right to left.... you broke it...

My HTC touch diamond WORKS JUST FINE WITH TOUCH SCREEN. Although it is running the same sense UI the HD2 runs. Although it's still not that bad using the WinMo6.5 UI.
I don't believe that somebody saying they prefer android over windows every time is fanboyish because as it stands unless your in the business crowd blackberry and winmo 6 are terrible I've used everything from the iphone os to maemo minus symbian and I'd prefer all of those over windows for now especially since I think series 7 may be what puts windows back at if not close to the top
google os really sucks, i worked customer service a few months back and andriod sucks......badly, the iphone and andriod are just app phones and nothing more, the hd2 is more like a computer downsized to a phone

I have an iPhone and let me tell you, It is getting very old, very fast. I am looking into getting one of these phones. Just not sure if I should go with WM 6.5 or Android... I also have a MyTouch 3G and really liked the droid OS. I am so CONFUUUSED!! lol HELP GUYS!! lol

But Android is kind of childish to me, and home menu is too simple for me. But i suggest you to try out before making decisions. Don't forget Windows Phone 7 series is coming out in this holiday!

I don't get why there are so many videos of Android phones vs an iPhone that they know damn well that iPhone wins in, but when the HD2 comes around, they don't even THINK about comparing it to iPhone because they know it will kick its ass.

My HTC touch diamond WORKS JUST FINE WITH TOUCH SCREEN. Although it is running the same sense UI the HD2 runs. Although it's still not that bad using the WinMo6.5 UI.

I don't believe that somebody saying they prefer android over windows every time is fanboyish because as it stands unless your in the business crowd blackberry and winmo 6 are terrible I've used everything from the iphone os to maemo minus symbian and I'd prefer all of those over windows for now especially since I think series 7 may be what puts windows back at if not close to the top
