  • @26greenrose Cheers also to you loyd, and Gunter!!

  • Very nice cover of a big hit and great song. This version can keep up with the original of the Bee Gees.

  • @skynyrdfan56 Thanks, Gunter, I've loved this version for so long!

  • If you ever get the chance, go see The Lettermen in concert; They are fabulous.

  • @richh40 I look forward to doing that Rich...

  • A wonderful interpretation by the Lettermen of this Bee Gees classic! A lovely song to dedicate to your mother! Peace & love!

  • @Madelow56 Thanks! Just wish I'd thought to put a picture of her in the video.

  • thank you Barry Gibb, all time greats Lettermen and Bee Gees, two all time in top ten groups of all time.

  • This is so wonderful, Phil. Probably one of the most beautiful songs, no matter who sings it. The Letterman just happen to do a fabulous job.

    Beautiful

    :]

  • So glad you liked it Aurora!! ; ))

  • Phil, what a beautiful tribute to your mother. I'm sure every time someone listens to it, she smiles down at you. I can only hope that my son will take a lesson from you and some day (and I hope it's a long time from now) and post my favorite song in memory of me.

    Great job, as usual Phil

  • Thanks Becca! I hope your son sees this AND reads all the comments. They are VERY revealing!

  • Beautiful song guys, and so well done, as always!

  • I've always loved this song and this is the first time I have heard it by The Lettermen- lovely harmonies, and such a lovely idea to dedicate it to your mother.

  • Thanks Becky for your lovely comment as always :))

  • Hi Phil

What a wonderful tribute to your beautiful mother. I'm sure she's looking down from heaven

and enjoying this with all of us.

    Love

    Cath

  • Thanks Cathy (have you changed it to Cath????)

Your usual warm sentiments are most welcome! :))

  • The positive influence you have on your viewers is heartwarming. Love the song too. Thank you.

  • You know,my heart is just as warmed by all these wonderful comments. It's easily the best response I've had for a video!

    Thanks everyone!

  • this writer has been so busy that he even forgot to check out L1's channel (sorry).

this is a most wonderful dedication to your mom, my friend!

similarly, i would have wanted to post "lettermen's i only have eyes for you" but it's already posted. It was my mom who taught me the lyrics!

Coincidentally "Words" is the song that I would pick if I were "forced" to sing! :)

  • !!!!!!!! I thought I'd already posted a reply to this!! Must have omitted pressing the Post Comment button! So A belated thanks to you

65, and as my previous comment said, lets all request that 65Reasons' interpretation of this song is posted soon!!!!! :))

Also I would go ahead with the posting of "I only have eyes for you" - look at any popular artiste and they all have multiple postings of the same songs. We all have a differing image when it comes to posting our videos!

  • fat chance if he could be "forced" to broadcast in the internet!!! hahaha! 65R:)

  • LOL!!! L1 :))

  • Hi phil. Very nice song and thats great to honor your mom that way. Anne

  • Thank you so much Anne :))

  • You have posted my most favorite videoke song "Words" and I'm so happy about this. Sure I would make my own version and I hope you won't mind if I post it in my account. MORE PLEASE!!!!

  • Thanks also to you JD, as my ealiest mentor your comments are always welcome! Of course you should post your own interpretation of the song! It will probably be a lot different to mine!

  • Phil, I definitely have to agree with you on how the Lettermen didn't change the melody but made it their own. Unlike Boyzone who rearranged the lyrics and verses....now don't get me wrong I liked Boyzone but thought their version was just ok...I also like the fact that you dedicated this video to the memory of your Mom. I'm sure she's smiling down at you and your family from heaven!!

  • Thanks Eman for your good and constructive comment. Your last sentence was very touching (and warming!)

  • Phil, you have taught me a valuable lesson, believe it or not, you taught me how to cherish my folks now that they are older....not that I didn't but now I've made sure I have time to sit and talk with them especially after work...or to call them during the day just to say hello and that I love them....

  • This is wonderful Eman, I'm overwhelmed and so glad! Treasure them while you can has always been my advice!
