Although I'm one the biggest David Gilmour fans in the world, if asked to describe Pink Floyd's sound, I would have to be honest and sum it up in two words: "RICK WRIGHT"
the keyboard solo after the windy section in echoes will always be the one thats in my memory for rick its such an epic passage, tony banks and rick wakeman are always the 2 great keyboardists from the 70s that are remembered but this guy is always forgotten and in my oppinion and should be in everybody elses he was the greatest of them all
i feel so sorry for this guy. he got kicked out of the band by warters. they highered him for every show but. when warters got kicked out or left they took him back in though.
i mean omg how could he kick out wright when he had been in the band from the start!
a song come to mind from dark side of the moon called money '-'
The songs listed in this "medley" isn't written by Wright only. It's mainly a collection of "keyboard solos" he has played. Even though some of the songs are written by other members.
I've always loved the keyboard solo in Wearing the inside out. It were the first Pink Floyd song with Wright on the vocals since mid-70's and I think the lyrics are about him and Waters.
What about the entire Great Gig In The Sky?

Such understated brilliance. It took me decades to figure out how much of an influence on my playing he is.

The fade out solo that Richard does in "Shine on..." is extremely touching.
