Paulina Porizkova is an inspiration. Way back 1998 i had a Cosmetic Surgery (Eyes and Nose). I told my good Surgeon i want to look like Paulina. It's funny because the front and side view pictures of Paulina was in the Operating Room. Years later, i had so many suitors and admirers. I'm happy for women who can stay naturally thin without the aid of smoking or drugs, but that population of naturally thin women is very small. In regards to edgromantic, I'm not trying to start an argument here, and I don't know if you have any young daughters, but I'm sure if you saw your daughter either starving herself, vomiting immediately after eating, or bingeing and purging in attempts to have an unrealistic figure like Paulina's, you would change your tune a bit.

I want to further comment on Paulina's smoking. I know she smokes because I read magazine articles where they have made references to her holding a cigarette while speaking to the interviewer. I have also seen her today and yes she still looks pretty good, but if you look at her really up close, she has little lines around her eyes and mouth. Smoking ages the skin prematurely.

It worries me about the "size 0" models and their impact on young girls. I couldn't agree more. Paulina, was in my opinion, way too thin back then. And I know she smoked to keep her weight down. If you want a better role model, go for Kathy Ireland. She isn't fat, but she is more muscular I would say and I think that makes her body look more realistic.

Why do you assume that thin people do things to be thin. I am very thin and it has nothing to do with my lifestyle. You really shouldn't buy into stereotypes. If you see paulina today she looks as young as she did back then. If she hadn't been taking care of herself for all of these years it would really show. I keep my weight down WITHOUT smoking and I am not overweight, thank you very much. I know Paulina smokes because I've seen interviews where references are made within the article about her holding a cigarette. I'm not jealous of her. the problem does not lie in young girls being naturally very thin - this is ok especially if you are tall - the problem is the fashion industry using extremely thin girls; exclusively; without using a cross section of body types. This gives the wrong message - that only very thin is acceptable. Very thin = success, fame etc. If you are 16 years old with a little puppy fat this can lead to anxiety in some girls who want to conform to what is seen as beautiful.
