It was great. ACL relocated from the UT area to the Moody theater which is house in the W. It's an amazing venue... larger than the previous but very intimate and great views from any seat. The band was pure energy so all in all a great experience. The new venue also has live performances while not taping live you can buy tickets to attend some awesome bands or get on the ACL blog and look for giveways to the live tapings.
i agree with shockabilly---i saw them open for the dolls and they were fantastic. i love the dolls but they were so loud that it was hard to hear the vocals.
This is my new favorite band too. I just saw them open for the New York Dolls and was totally blow away. The Dolls sucked compared to these guys. I gotta see them again soon. Best show I have seen in years and I go to a lot of them.
Tree, that is because most of the people are there for the food and the music is secondary. It is like that all of the time when bands play in restaurants but they are some of the most common venues for live music on a smaller scale. I've made videos where you have to listen hard to hear the music while everyone is blabbing their heads off because they aren't there for the music, just the food. It sucks. This guy or gal did a great job on the video though. Five Star stuff.
I had a residency @ The Ruben E. Lee in Newport Beach many years ago. When the red light over the stage went on we had to stop playing while the host would call the next party for their table!
Going to see their live taping at ACL this Monday, can't wait ... love them!

This band rocks! You can definitely hear the rock/funk/blues influence of James Brown. This is my new favorite band!

It's funny how the people keep passing in front of the camera like the band is on some TV or something not even noticing.
